摘要：PURPOSE:To scroll a map smoothly even when a moving body moves at a high speed by making the sampling time interval of current position arithmetic operation small when a moving speed is fast, and interpolating the current position in a nonsampling state properly and adjusting the current position at short intervals when the moving speed can not be varied. CONSTITUTION:Moving speed data detected by a vehicle speed sensor 18 are inputted to a sub-CPU 20. Then this sub-CPU 20 selects sampling time data in a sampling time setting data memory 22 according to the value of the moving speed and sets a desired sampling time interval. Further, the current position of a traveling vehicle is calculated and coordinate data corresponding to it are selected in a coordinate data memory 21 and inputted to a main CPU 7. This CPU 7 selects image data every time the data is updated into new current position coordinate data at the sampling time interval to generate map display data and the map is scrolled on the screen of a display part 30 to display the current position. When the moving speed of the traveling vehicle increases, the sampling speed of the current position arithmetic operation and the update speed of the map display data become large, so the map is scrolled smoothly even in a fast travel.
