1. there be 的用法：
There be句型的主语通常应放在谓语be动词后面。此结构中，若主语为单数，用There is；若主语为复数，用There are。若主语为不可数名词，则用There is。

(1)spend的用法：
Spend 的主要意思是“花费，消费，消耗”， 主语一般是人，主要有两个句子结构：
1）spend …on sth. 花费/消耗……在某物/某事上，这里的on不能省略。
2）spend time on/ in doing sth. 花费/消耗时间在某物上，这里的on/ in可以省略。
如：He usually _______ his money _______ books .
He always _______ much time _______(do) homework .
(2) watch 的用法
watch可以做及物动词，意为“注视，观看”。其结构为watch sb. do sth. 看着某人做了某事；watch sb. doing sth. 看着某人正在做某事。watch还可以用作名词，意为“手表”。
I watch him put on his coat . 我看着他穿上衣服。
He watched them eating . 他看着他们吃。

阅读新授
1. Activity 2a (Pre-reading)
让学生两人一组针对2a中所列的不同地点根据个人情况进行问与答，参考对话如下：
A：Is there a clothes store near your home ?
B: Yes , there is . Go along …
双方交换角回答完毕后，根据世界情况勾出自家附近有的地点，同时可用符号标出同伴家附近有的地点。
2. Activity 2b  (while-reading)
1）让学生先观察2b的三幅图片，然后快速浏览2b三篇短文中的第一、二句和最后一句，完成2b的图文匹配任务。全班核对答案。
2）让学生仔细阅读三篇短文和相关图片，然后分小组讨论，根据Anna , John , Lisa 的居住环境回答课本上cooperative2c的问题。各小组进行竞赛，比一比哪个小组回答的最快、最好。
