寻寻觅觅，冷冷清清，凄凄惨惨戚戚。乍暖还寒时候，最难将息。三杯两盏淡酒，怎敌他、晚来风急？雁过也，正伤心，却是旧时相识。
满地黄花堆积。憔悴损，如今有谁堪摘？守着窗儿，独自怎生得黑？梧桐更兼细雨，到黄昏、点点滴滴。这次第，怎一个愁字了得！
Look and look in vain for my lost love,
In loneliness, in sadness,  in misery, and in grief.
Hard to fall asleep to get refresh,
When it turns just from cold to warmth.
Two or three cups of dry wine I drink,
Yet I can’t endure the swift wind at dusk.
The wild geese are passing, while my heart isbreaking,
Just as old acquaintances they are of mine.
On the ground the yellow flowers are collecting,
Which are withered and faded,
To pick them up now, who is willing?
At the window, alone I’m sitting,
For the dark, how could I bear waiting?
On Wutongs’ broad leaves, a fine rain is drizzling,
Till at dusk, it is till dropping.
Alas, the word “grief” is so powerless,
Upon depicting my mood, dreariness !song
