It was the last summer of my college years. I found a place at the Jerdey seashore. One night,
I walked out of the house and went down to the beach. No one was round. So I pulled off my
clothes, left them in a pile(堆),and jumped into the wave. I swam around for twenty minutes.
Then a wave drove me back to the shore.
When I came out of the water, my clothes were missing. As I was thinking over what to do, I heared the voices. It was a group of people walking in my direction. I started to run back to a house. It was fifty
or sixty yards away. But as I ran closer, I suddenly realized that there was a screen(纱门). I ran right through it.
Now I was standing in the middle of a living room. There was a father and two little kids.
They were watching TV. But I was wearing nothing. I turned around, and ran back down to the beach. I kept on running and finally found my clothes. I didn’t know that there was an undertow (回头浪). It had carried me about four blocks from where I had gone into the water.
The next morning, I walked and looked for the house with the broken screen door. I found it.
As I was walking up to knock on what was left of the door, I saw the father inside. He was walking toward me. I apologized. “You know, I feel really bad about what happened. I want to give you some money for the screen door.”
The father cut me off and waved his hands. He answered. “Honey, I can’t take anything from you. We’ve had so much fun!”defending

Take a really deep death. Feel how your chest gets bigger and bigger. Your chest gets biffer because your lungs are filling up with air. You cannot see air, but air is all around you. You can feel it when the wind blows.
Earth’s atmosphere is made of air. An atmosphere is made up of the gases that surround a planet.
Air is a mixture of several different gases. The main gases in air nitrogen(N2), oxygen(O2),and argon(氩气). Air also contains smaller amounts of hydrogen (H2), carbon dioxide(CO2), water vapor(H2O), helium(氦气)and other gases, Oxygen is the most important gas for animals. Animals must breathe oxygen in order to live.
Carbon dioxide is the most important gas for plants. Plants use carbon and sunlight to make food. Plants give off oxygen. Animals turn the oxygen back into carbon dioxide when they breathe.
You can go to places where there is no air. There is no air underwater, but you can dive(潜水)underwater. You can stay underwater a short time just by holding your breath. Air tanks let you stay underwater for a long time. The tanks are filled with gases that make up air. The divers breathe the gases through pipes.
There is less and less air the higher up you go. People breathe with difficulty at the tops of tall mountains. Airplanes must carry air. Once the airplane gets up high, air is sent into the cabin (机舱)where people sit. Space-men have to take all the air they need with them—There is no air in space!
