Module 1 My First Day at Senior High
本模块的中心话题是“一位高中新生到新的一天〞,具体介绍高中新生第一天到观察和接触到的人和事物及个人的感受,内容紧密结合学生现实生活。本节课着重培养学生的阅读能力。通过文章的阅读学习,培养学生热爱新、新班级和新同学的感情,鼓励学生参与各种英语活动,克服困难。本模块的内容主要有:课时1:衔接科目,谈论对新的印象和所学科目;并复习以ing和ed结尾的形容词。课时2:阅读李康的高中第一天及阅读文知识点学习。课时3:对文化角阅读与知识点学习,并进行口语训练。课时4:听力局部的练习,一般现在时与现在进行时学习以及写作训练,如何写。
【知识与能力目标】
1.掌握并记忆本课的重点词汇和短语。
2.培养学生的阅读能力,训练学生阅读速度,查读的阅读技巧;训练学生学会主题句,归纳文章主旨,运用想象,联想,学会用英语思考的能力 。
3.让学生理解现在进行时,一般现在时和以-ing和-ed结尾的形容词的用法,并掌握这些用法。
4.学会用英语来回复。
【过程与方法目标】
1.通过让学生观看图片来加深学生对新的印象并通过提问的形式引导学生了解高中和在,老师,课程等方面的不同。
2.通过朗读指导,自主探究,小组活动等方面来引导学生掌握这个单元的单词,文章和知识点。

1.结合熟悉的知识点来学习高中各学科教学的特点。
2.理解美国高中与中国高中的文化差异。

Step 1 Introduction
1. The teacher uses a question to start the lesson. “What’s your impression of your school?〞
2. Five pictures are given to help Ss recall our school.
The teacher continues to ask another question “What subject do you study?〞
“Chinese, Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Politics, P.E, Art, IT.
And then tell the Ss to classify them into two groups. Chinese, Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Politics are academic subjects; P.E, Art, IT are non-academic subjects. Of all the academic subjects, Chinese, Maths, English are main subjects in Gao kao. Physics, Chemistry, Biology are science subjects and Geography, History, Politics are art subjects.
3. The teacher goes on the question “which subject do you like best? Why?〞
Ss may have various answers. The teacher should notice their answers and correct an inaccurate expression. “Can you say: “I like English, because it can help me know the world better?〞 “No, we can’t〞 .Can you say: “Because it can help me know the world bett
er, I like English..?〞 “No, we can’t〞. “You’d better say: I like English because it can help me know the world better.〞
原因状语从句注意:1. 主句从句不分开。 2. 一般情况下,果后因。

Give Ss other ways to express their likes: love/ enjoy/ be fond of would like to be enthusiastic about be crazy about have a great passion for into go wild about
For example, I’m crazy about English because it can broaden my horizons and enrich my knowledge. And then pair-work to practice them.
Step 2 Grammar
Grammar the usage of “-ed〞 and “-ing〞
1. Underline the adjectives with –ing or –ed endings in the reading passage. And tell us what does each adjective mean in English. (P.6)
2. Choose the correct explanation about adjectives with -ing and -ed endings:
A. the -ing form describes things; the -ed form describes people
B. The -ing form describes the people or things that cause the feeling; the -ed form tells us how people feel
The key is the second one.
3. Complete the sentences (P7). Answers: bored, interested, amazing, disappointed, embarrassed, boring
