load operation even if there is a restriction on the position of a throttle valve.SOLUTION: An engine unit 100 comprises a combustion chamber 70 having an intake port 71a and an exhaust port 71b, an intake passage 49a leading air in the atmosphere into the combustion chamber 70, an exhaust passage 49b discharging a gas in the combustion chamber to the atmosphere, an intake valve 62, an exhaust valve 64, and a throttle valve 40a regulating the opening area of the intake passage 49a. The throttle valve 40a, when the operation region of the engine unit 100 is in a predetermined low load operation region, regulates the opening area such that, during one cycle, an intake pressure between the throttle valve 40a in the intake passage 49a and the combustion chamber 70 satisfies a predetermined relationship.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
