Since the monarchy’s job is primarily symbolic, do you think there’s the necessity for the monarchy to exist? Why do you think the Britons still keep the monarchy in modern time?
monarchy
As we all know, Britain is a constitutional monarchy. The monarchy has existed for over 1000 years. It has already become one part of the British political systems. Although, most of the role of monarch is symbolic, it still plays an important role in British people’s life. The reasons are as follows:
Historically, the highly development of bourgeois is partly due to the concession and respect of the monarch. It is the monarch who abandoned the mortal rights and contributed a lot for the formation of the parliamentary system so that every one can get the chance to be involved in politics. Undoubtedly, it represents a continuity of the political system and social culture. The monarchy in the western countries functions just like a living museum of history.
Politically, the monarch has never taken sides in any political debate. In name, he enjoys the supreme position and represents the nation of Britain. As a result, he plays a very important r
ole in the unification of the country. Besides the British monarch still keeps three important mortal rights: the right to be consulted, the right to provide suggestion, and the right to give warning.
