1．sense
(1||)sense作动词，意为“感觉到；意识到”，后接名词、that从句或w||hat，how，who等疑问词引导的从句。
(2)sense作名词，意为“感觉；||意识”，多用单数形式，并常与a连用。

2．pain
pain||作名词，意为“痛苦；疼痛；苦恼”，形容词形式||为painful，意为“痛苦的；疼痛的”。
►表示身体某部位疼时，为可数名词。

►表示由损伤或疾病引起的痛苦、疼痛时，为不可数名词。
如||：His back causes him a l||ot of pain.他的背使他很痛苦。
►表示精神上的痛苦时，为不可数名词。

►表示“努力，辛苦，操心”时，只用其复数形式。

3．perform
perform作动词，意为“表演；执行”。其名词形式为per||formance，意为“表演”；performer，意为“表演者”||。
4．pity
(1)pity作名词，表示||“遗憾”时，是可数名词，常与a连用，构成句式“It's a p||ity(that)…”，表示“真可惜 真||遗憾……”；“what that's a pity”表示“真遗憾||；真可惜”。
(2)pity作名词，表示“怜悯；同情”时，是不可数名词。
