M5U1:
1.clothes/clothing shop服装店 
2.注意区别以下节日中的名词所有格:
Mothers Day母亲节    Teachers Day教师节
Childrens Day儿童节
3.商店或市场中服务行业人员常用交际用语:
Question(问)&Answer(答):
(1)--What can I do for you?(特殊疑问句)
    --Id like/I want 
(2)--Can I help you?(一般疑问句)
    --Yes,Id like (to buy) sth.
(3)--Is there anything I can do for you?(一般疑问句)
    --Of course/Certainly/Sure.Id like (to buy) sth
4.try on 试穿,为“动词+副词”构成的短语,代词作宾语时,必须放在try和on之间;名词作宾语时,放在try和on之间或者副词on之后都可以。如try it/them on试穿一下它/它们。
拓展:have a try(名词) 试一试    try out  实验;试用
    try ones best to do sth.尽某人最大努力去做某事
5.情态动词may的用法
(1)“可以”,表示“请求、许可”,相当于can。
--May/Can I have a look at your new mobile phone?
--Certainly.
(2)表示“推测”。
He may know that.他可能知道那件事情。
=Maybe he knows that.(maybe为副词,表示推测)
6.look(动词) at = have a look(名词)at  看一看
look 作连系动词用,“看起来;显得”,后接形容词作表语。
You look very sad today.Whats wrong?你今天看起来很难过,怎么了?
7.too much & much too & too many
(1)too much,“太多”。
●修饰不可数名词,如too much water/litter,太多水/垃圾
●修饰动词,如She talks too much.她说话太多了。
(2)much too, ,后接形容词或副词。
The mobile phone is much too expensive.这部手机太贵了。
(3)too many, 太多,修饰可数名词的复数形式,如too many cars,太多车。
8.“重要的”wait
(1)wait for sb./sth.等待某人/某物
(2)wait in line 排队等候
(3)wait to do sth.等待去做某事
(4)cant wait to do sth.迫不及待去做某事
I cant wait to visit my grandparents in the countryside.
我迫不及待的要去看望住在乡下的爷爷奶奶了。
同根词:waiter n.服务员(总称);男服务生 waitress n.女服务员
歌曲:Right Here Waiting.此情可待。
名言警句:
Time and tide wait for no man.时不我待/岁月不饶人。
常见表达还有:wait a minute/moment  等一会儿
=wait for a while(n.)
9.on sale“在打折;降价出售” & for sale “待售”
(1)The skirts are on sale.这些裙子正在降价出售。
(2)There are many skirts  for sale.有许多裙子待售。
拓展:salesman/saleswoman 男女销售员
10.询问物品价格的句型:
(1)Whats the price of sth.?    某物价格多少?
(2)How much is/are sth?        某物多少钱?
(3)How much does/do sth. cost? 某物值多少钱?
注意:(1)修饰价格“高低”要用high/low;表示东西“贵贱”要用expensive/cheap
      (2)当price作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式,如The price of the dictionary is 109 yuan.字典的价格是109元。
11.fresh adj. 新鲜的;淡的;新的
fresh vegetables/water/ideas 新鲜的蔬菜/淡水/新的观点
12.what size询问物品的尺码。常见的标准尺码表达有:S(small)小号; M(medium)中号; L(large)大号;XL(extra large)加大号。

2.advantage n.可数,优点;优势,其反义词是disadvantage。
have a great advantage 拥有巨大的优势
If you can speak English well,you will have a great advantage over others when looking for a job.
如果你英语讲得好,在工作时跟别人比就是一个巨大的优势。
3.好好比较比较compare
(1)with ...“把......和......作比较”。
Parents often compare their children with others.
家长们常拿自己的孩子同别人家的孩子作比较。(都是“别人家的”)(2) ...“把......比作”。
We always compare teachers to candles.
我们总是将老师比作蜡烛(老师像蜡烛一样燃烧自己,照亮他人,比喻义) 。
(3)compared to/with sth“与......相比”。
Compared to our small house, Toms house seemed like a palace.
和我们的小房子相比,汤姆的房子就像是一座宫殿。
4.“多产的”produce
produce  v. “生产;制作,制造” product n.“产品;制品”
producer n.“生产者,制造商;制作人,制片人”   
production n.“(尤指大批量的)生产;产量”
5.pay some money for sth. 花钱买某物  pay sb.付钱给/酬谢某人
6.many new ways of shopping 许多新的购物方式

7.by post(名词)通过邮寄(的方式)post office邮政局
8.at any time在任何时候;随时
9.Open the door,please.(open动词,“打开”,反义词是close)
Look!The door is open!(open形容词,“开着的”,反义词是closed)
The shop is open.(open形容词,“营业的,开放的”)
10.常见save表达法:
(1)save money攒钱,存钱  (2) save time/money 节约时间/水   
(3)save ones life(其复数形式为lives)挽救某人生命 
11.Tom is always crying.汤姆总是哭(有反感之意,烦他)
  Tom is not always crying.
不能翻译为“汤姆总是不哭”,而应翻译为“汤姆并非总是(有时候哭有时候不哭,也有乖巧的时候)。not always 为部分否定
  Tom never cries. 汤姆从来不哭。never为全部否定
12.一言辨析:receive(客观上)收到 & accept(主观上)接受
I received a present from Jack yesterday but I didnt accept it.
我昨天收到了杰克的一份礼物,但是我并没有接受。
receive a letter from sb.= hear from sb.收到某人的信
13.如何区分because of  & because
前者是复合介词短语,后接名词,代词宾格或者动词的-ing形式作宾语;后者为连词,后面接完整的句子,表示原因,可以和so引导的结果状语从句互换。
I was late for school this morning because of the heavy rain.
=I was late for school this morning because it rained heavily.
=It rained heavily,so I was late for school this morning
今天早上我上学迟到是因为下大雨的原因。
和late有关的名言警句:
Better late than never.
迟做总比不做好/亡羊补牢,为时不晚。
It is never/ Never too late to learn.
活到老,学到老。
14.safe 形容词,“安全的”反义词为unsafe/dangerous,“危险的”;
  safely 副词,“安全地;safety 名词,“安全”。
Safety always comes first.安全总是第一位的。

1.custom n.不可数,“风俗;习惯”;n.复数形式customs,表示“海关”;customer n.“顾客”。
