浅谈“carry with it + N”结构
Being a parent is not always easy, and being the parent of a child with special needs often carries with _______ extra stress.

这是2009年北京高考卷中一道选择题，从题目的设计来看，很明显是在考查代词的用法。但实际上，是在考查句子结构。很多考生是因为看不懂句子结构而无法选择或错选。在句中“carry”是“具有”的意思，其宾语是“extra stress”，所以正常语序应是“ carries extra stress with _______ .”  这样我们就很容易看出"with"后面的内容应该是“being the parent of a child with special needs ”，也就是答案中的“it”. 本句的大意为： “当父（母）总是不容易的，而给一名有特殊需要的孩子当父（母）常常伴随着额外的压力。”
再例如：Being a combat sport, Karate carries with it the risk of injury. 作为一项格斗运动， 空手道有受伤的风险。
其实，在英语学习中我们经常碰到像“carry with it + N ”这样的结构，这是表达的需要，因为
有时候动词后面的名词部分可能很长，为了照顾局部的句子平衡，就采用了这种调整语序的办法。

The invention of telegram make possible the transmission of messages to any part of the world within a few second.
电报的发明使信息在几秒钟内传送到世界各地成为了可能。
Computers that are more powerful make possible simulations that are more accurate and can reduce cost and increase efficiency.

非限制性定语从句可以写成：..., which brings not only necessary state welfare, but also alcoholism, betrayal and even suicide with it.  (bring sth with sth. ) “ it ”指的是法兰西共和国提供的现代的生活方式。
