1.What is a summary? 
A summary is a fairly brief restatement, in your own words, of the main contents.
Summary is a short passage giving the main points of an original article.
2.How to make a summary
Find key words;
Find key sentences;
Find the key ideas;
Step2 Leading in 
Let’s share opinions on summary writing:
1. May we mainly use the sentences in the original passage?
2. May we mainly use our own words?
3. May we write it in the first person or the third person?
4. Need we write down the examples ?

Ⅰ)Find out the topic sentence in each paragraph
Example 1
I enjoy weekends. I can sleep late on Saturday mornings. My friends and I can go to the movies. I can do all kinds of shopping. I needn’t finish my homework at weekends. We usually go for a ride on Saturday afternoon.

Example 3
Being an American in China, I am often asked:” Why do you come to China? Do you like it? Why do you want to live here?” Some people can’t imagine why I would choose to live and work in this country. So many Chinese are anxious to go to the United States. I feel both proud and concerned about(担忧) this, proud because America is indeed a great land, and concerned because China too, is a great land. My friends don’t always see that. Beauty in one’s backyard is sometimes taken for granted (想当然)，so I would like to share with you some common foreign observations about China.

Passage 1
Everyone has an experience they would rather forget．Some are embarrassing，some are moving，and some teach us a lesson．Here is a story of mine． 
Last Sunday I went fishing. After setting up my fishing rod with bait，I sat down on the bank of the lake．But two hours later, I didn’t catch any fish.I got very angry and began to pack up my stuff, preparing to go back home．Just then，I saw an old man sitting near me．To my surprise，his basket was full of fish，so 1 went  over to him，wanting to know why．“Excuse me，but how long have you sat here?’ ’I asked “About four hours.” he answered．‘‘Four hours?’’ I couldn’t believe my ears. “Yes. It‘s very important to be patient，”the old man said．strcmp was not declared in
“Don’t consider fishing a tiring sport．Just enjoy it." Suddenly，I understood what he said．I must learn to be patient．Then I sat there and waited for fish patiently．I felt a fish touch the bait，but I didn’t move and waited to the right moment to reel it in．At last，I caught it．This made me very happy. In the following six hours，I caug
ht over 10 fish． 
On my way home，I thought what had happened on the bank．I gradually realized that the secret of success was patience．

Passage 2
I was brought up in the countryside by my grandmother. She was very courageous and inspiring woman and was very beautiful, too. In comparison with her or some of my classmates, I always felt that I was not beautiful or pretty. In fact, when I was studying in middle school, I thought I was ugly and just because of these negative feelings I was not very confident. I often felt self-conscious. One day when I was walking with my grandmother after lunch, we met one of her friends. We talked for a few minutes. Just as my grandmother’s friend was about to leave, she turned to me and said, “Xiao Wen, you lo
