课前准备
1.教师自己制作的课件和教材的配套光盘;
2.教材配套的单词卡片;
3.与教学有关的图片等。

教学过程
Step 1 导课
1. Greet each other.
firefighter2. Let’s watch a video about special dogs.(激发学生兴趣)
3. T:Now, let’s learn a special dog which can find people in the fire. It’s special. It’s different from other dogs.
Step 2 新授
1. 教师出示一张Fifi 的图片。
T: What can Fifi do? What can’t Fifi do?
Ss: Fifi can… Fifi can’t…
2. 教师出示一张Fifi 一年前的图片。
T: What could Fifi do then? What couldn’t Fifi do then?
Help Ss learn “ could, couldn’t”.
结合图片引导学生理解could,couldn’t 是 can , can’t 的过去式。
3. T: Some special dogs can help people do lot of things. Who need a special dog?
Ss:The blind people need a special dog.
The policemen …
T: The firefighters also need a special dog.
教师出示消防员的照片,学习单词 fire, firefighters.
4. 教师出示课文第一幅插图,让学生观察并回答:
What could the firefighters do? What couldn’t they do?
Ss: The firefighters could… They couldn’t…
5. Learn the passage.
(1) T: The firemen had a special dog. What could it do?
Listen to the tape and answer.
Ss: The dog could find the people. 板书并学习句子。
(2) Read and talk in groups.
Where were the people?
Were they safe?
学习单词 inside.
(3) Listen and repeat.
(4) Find the sentences with “ could, couldn’t”.
(5) Activity book.
Step 3 练习
1. 口语练习
(1) The firefighters couldn’t see the people. It could find the people.
Ss read the sentences three times and the speed is faster and faster. Then have a match between 2 groups.
(2) Practice the whole sentences. 朗读课文三遍,使用‘学乐师生’APP录音,分享给全班同学。
2. 听力练习
(1) Play the tape-recorder.
(2) Play the tape-recorder again. Tell them that you are going to find out the questions
What could the firefighters do?
What couldn’t they do?
Who found the people?
(设计意图:听录音模仿正确的语音语调)
Step 4 总结
本课重点单词:could, couldn’t, speak, fire, firefighter, inside
