This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-02-01 AA Spiralbohrer aus Schnellarbeitsstahl (für Metall) of the Normenausschuss Werkzeuge und Spannzeuge (FWS) (Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee).

This standard specifies dimensions for and the designation of parallel shank twist drills, long series.

3 Dimensions, designation
The twist drills do not need to be designed as shown here; they only need to have the specified dimensions, see also DIN 1414-1.
