Designation
3.1
Standard designation
An equal angle (LS) made from steel of grade S235JR (material number 1.0037) as specified in DIN EN 10025,with a flange width, a , of 20mm and a flange thickness, s , of 4mm shall be designated:
LS section DIN 1022 – LS 20 × 4 – S235JR
or
LS section DIN 1022 – LS 20 × 4 – 1.0037

3.2Order details
When ordering, angles shall be designated as follows.EXAMPLE:
10 tonnes of equal angle bars made from steel of grade S235JR (material number 1.0037) as specified in DIN EN 10025, with a flange width, a , of 20mm and a flange thickness, s , of 4mm, to be supplied in as manufactured lengths shall be designated:
10 t of LS section DIN 1022 – LS 20 × 4 – S235JR or
10 t of LS section DIN 1022 – LS 20 × 4 – 1.0037

4.2Straightness
Unless otherwise agreed upon at the time of ordering, LS steel bars are normally supplied with an as rolled straightness.
5Material
LS steel bars should be made from DIN EN 10025 steel, with the particular steel grade being specified at the time of ordering.
6Tolerances on mass
See table 2 for tolerances on mass.
4.1.2The deviation of angles from rectangularity, k , shall not exceed 1mm (see figure 2).

Table 2:Tolerances on mass
Deviation in mass shall be taken to be the difference in mass of the consignment and the mass as calculated from table 1 and the lengths supplied (in the case of as manufactured lengths) or the mass calculated from the lengths ordered (in the case of specified or exact lengths).
7Measurement of straightness
The number of samples for straightness measurement and the method to be used shall be subject to agreement.
