Wang Guowei (March 12, 1877 – June 2, 1927), also known as Mingweng, was born in Haining, Zhejiang Province. He was a Chinese philosopher, aesthete, and scholar in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. He is one of the founders of modern Chinese aesthetics and a key figure in the development of modern Chinese philosophy.
