持之以恒
The saying “what you do every day matters more than what you do every once in a while” embodies the importance of perseverance. Perseverance is the continuous effort to do something despite difficulties or opposition. The application of perseverance to any task or goal is often what distinguishes between those who are successful and those who fail.
Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before he invented long-lasting light bulbs. When asked about his failures, Edison replied that “They were not failures. I have found thousands of ways that won’t work.” What a thought-provoking remark! If we learn from our failures and be perseverant, can success be far behind?
As for me, I usually take the following measures to enhance my perseverance. Firstly, set a goal and be specific about what result I want to achieve. Then , break the goal down into smaller pieces. Smaller pieces are easier to manage and accomplish, and they’ll give me a sense of accomplishment sooner. Thirdly, keep an optimistic attitude. It doesn’t matter if I fail once or twice. The most important thing is to learn from the failure and carry on. I deeply beli
react to啥意思eve that by paying small efforts every day, success will eventually come to our hands.
合理应对
As for life, it is how you react to it rather than what happens to you that counts. This can be best echoed by the saying “life is 10%of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it.” Indeed, it is more often that you are defeated by yourself than by your life.
We are living in an ever-changing world and we may encounter some unexpected situations, including natural disasters and personal hardship. We’re heard about many cases that some miners miraculously survived several days after being trapped underground due to worksite accidents. It is their strong will to live that has supported them to hold on until the rescuers come to help them. By contrast, there are some people who are not brave enough to face the failures or difficulties in their life. Whenever they meet with a setback, they just shrink back. Therefore, it is often impossible for those people to get over the difficulties and learn.
Generally speaking, life treats everyone fairly. You may lose something at a time and then you will gain something else at another time. No matter what life changes happen to you, what you should do is just to react to it in a positive way.
机遇
It’s said that “when you stop chasing the wrong things you give the right things a chance to catch you.” From that we can learn that if we give up the way that doesn’t work out, the other might help us to attain our ends.
Take me as an example. I was not good at mathematics since my childhood, and even scared of studying it during high school, so i asked a teacher to privately tutor me. Gradually i became dependent on the teacher-i could quickly solve a math problem with him, but strenuously without him, so i didn’t make much progress in math actually. Hence, i decided to get rid of my dependence on him and walk around the math world on my own feet. Meantime, i also got a chance to thoroughly reexamine myself.
I stopped walking on the way of being dependent on other, and got a chance of pursuing self-realization. All in all, no matter how slim a chance is, it always exists and will catch you sooner or later, so long as you stop chasing the wrong things.
旁观者清
“Sometimes you need to distance yourself to see things clearly.” This remark reminds me of the lines written by a prominent Chinese poet Su Shi: “The ture face of Lushan is lost to my sight, for it is right in this mountain that i reside.” indeed, in order to see things clearly and avoid one-sided and inadequate conclusions, we must take a step back to have a panoramic view.
I still remember when i was a litter boy, i used to get blamed when i made a mistake. At that time, all i did was crying and shouting “bad dad”or “bad mum”. Only when i grow up do i realize that the blame was intended to prevent me from making the same mistake again. It is a period of time later that i see the “blames” though. The heart once filled with anger is now full of gratitude.
Just as another proverb goes, “Those closely involved cannot see as clearly as those outside.” The position we take is important for observing things. To see things through, we need to focus on the essence of things, try not to be trapped by the false appearance, and learn to change the perspective of observation occasionally.

The table shows the change of students’ choices of various kinds of books from 1990to 2010. Obviously enough, the number of novels and books of philosophy and society has declined gradually, with that of foreign languages books and computer science ones enjoying much more popularity.
Though different readers have their own particular tastes, several factors give rise to this phenomenon. Firstly, nowadays, most of the college students tend to buy more books concerning foreign languages learning and computer science, mainly because there is a pressing need of foreign languages and computer skills for their future employment. Secondly, though the selling number of novels decreased, they are still popular. This can b
e attributed to the availability of the Internet, on which people can easily read most popular books.
