摘要:PURPOSE:To obtain the molding tool with high strength, light weight and abrasion resistance by a method in which a part or the whole of the tool is composed of graphite material, and a part or the whole of said graphite is inverted into silicon carbide, and further C/C composite martial is integrally fixed to the outer surface of the molding tool. CONSTITUTION:A part or the whole of a molding tool is composed of graphite material. In working, graphite may be more heavily cut than the metallic material, and the speed up of working may be contrived. The surface of a part or the whole of such worked graphite mold is inverted into silicon carbide. For this purpose, said worked mold is placed in a graphite vessel, and then silicon monooxide gas is introduced on the surface of the graphite mold from the generating source of silicon mono-oxide gas, and by diffusing said silicon monooxide gas through the fine air holes of the graphite mold, its silicification reaction is carried out, thereby molding the layer 3 inverted into silicon carbide. Next, C/C composite material is integrally fixed to the outer surface of said mold having been treated, thereby molding the layer 4 of C/C composite. Therefore even by the repeated use at high temperature under high pressure, the silified layer 3 is not peeled.
