Title: My Journey through Middle School English
It's me again, your friend who loves to share stories! This time, I want to tell you about my exciting adventure through the first few units of English class in middle school. It's been quite a ride, filled with new words, grammar rules, and fascinating glimpses into different cultures. Are you ready? Let's dive in!
Unit 1: A Whole New World
The first unit was all about greetings and introductions. I learned how to say "Hello" and "How are you?" in English, which might seem simple, but it opened up a whole new world for me. Imagine being able to talk to people from different countries and make new friends! It wa
s like unlocking a secret code that allowed me to communicate with people I had never met before.
One of the funniest things I learned was how to introduce myself. In English, you say your name first, followed by "I am" or "My name is." It's the opposite of how we do it in Chinese! I practiced introducing myself in front of a mirror, and let me tell you, it felt

My First Year of Secondary School
Wow, what an adventure my first year of secondary school has been so far! I've learned so much already in just the first few units. Let me tell you all about it.
In Unit 1, we started off by talking about our daily routines. I really enjoyed sharing about my typical day - from waking up early, to having breakfast with my family, going to school, attending classes, doing homework, and finding time to play with friends. It was fun to compare my routine to my classmates' and see how we spend our time differently.
One thing I found really helpful was learning time words and phrases like "in the morning", "at noon", and "in the evening." Using those has made it much easier for me to ta
lk and write clearly about when things happen. I can explain my schedule without it getting all jumbled up!
We also learned how to tell time properly on analog and digital clocks. That's an important skill for managing my daily routine for sure. No more being late to anything!
In Unit 2, we moved on to describing people's personalities and appearance. I had to describe myself, which was kind of tricky at first. How do you sum up your whole self in just a few words? After some practice though, I got the hang of it.
Learning adjectives for personalities like "outgoing", "shy", "artistic", and "studious" was really useful. And being able to describe someone's looks, height, build, and style helps me see people more vividly when I just can't picture them. My descriptions are so much clearer now.
What was most fun was doing roleplay activities where we pretended to be characters with distinct personalities. Getting into a role really takes those adjectives to the next level!
Then in Unit 3, we talked all about our favorites - favorite foods, games, books, activities, you name it. I loved sharing my current obsessions and hearing my friends' favorites too. You can really get to know someone through their interests.
Learning words for expressing preferences like "prefer", "enjoy", "into", and "keen on" made those conversations much smoother. And understanding connecting words like "because", "due to", and "as a result" helped me explain my reasons clearly.
My favorite part was the unit project where we surveyed the class to find out everyone's top picks for various categories. Tallying up the results and analyzing the findings made me feel like a professional researcher!
Finally, Unit 4 was all about special celebrations and holidays around the world. We learned about major holidays like Chinese New Year, Eid al-Fitr, Diwali, Christmas, and so many more. Hearing how my classmates from diverse backgrounds observe different traditions was truly eye-opening.
