With the development of DYNACOLL®
7000 we greatly influenced the technology of one-component PUR hot melt adhesives.DYNACOLL® 7000 products are linear
copolyesters with primary hydroxyl
functionality and medium molecular weight.Our DYNACOLL® 7000 product line is
designed as a building block system, allowing the tailormade production of reactive hot melts (RHM).Depending on their morphology and
effects on the properties of RHM we
have divided the product line into three
basic groups:

Compatibility
Most DYNACOLL® 7000 copolyesters are compatible with each other. However partly incompatible, b
ut miscible systems are necessary in many applications as well.
The table on page 7 gives an overview of 1 : 1 copolyesters mixtures and their reaction products with MDI (OH : NCO = 1:2.2),
based on visual evaluation after storing
for 24 hours at 130 °C or 140 °C.
Form supplied
DYNACOLL® 7000 copolyesters are
supplied in 25 or 30 kg and 190 or 200 kg steel drums. They can be melted in a
heating chamber or processed with drum unloading equipment. Liquid bulk
deliveries are available on special request.Storage
When stored below 30 °C in closed
containers the products remain stable for at least one year. In the case of open or improperly closed containers, there is a possibility of increased moisture absorption from the atmosphere.
Uses
Reactive hot melt adhesives based on DYNACOLL® 7000 can be applied with standard hot melt equipment, e.g. roll coaters, bead and spray applicators etc. • automotive industry • wood working industry • packaging industry • textile industry • book binding

Moisture curable hot melt adhesives DYNACOLL® 7000 copolyesters are reacted with excess diisocyanate at elevated
temperatures under exclusion of moisture.
Moisture curable hot melts combine the
advantages of thermoplastic hot melts with those of reactive systems applied at
low temperatures between 100 - 130 °C.Due to their hot melt character they build up sufficient initial strength to avoid expensive fixation of the bonded parts.
The isocyanate groups react with moisture, followed by chain extension and cross-
linking to a high performance bond.The crosslinking can be promoted using a
catalyst.
