摘要：Provided is a photodissociable protective group which can be eliminated from the protection site under mild conditions with light irradiation. Specifically, a method is provided which comprises using the photodissociable protective group to protect a reactive functional group (e.g., a hydroxy, amino, carboxyl, carbonyl, or phosphoric diester group) and thereafter eliminating the photodissociable protective group from the protection site under neutral conditions by light irradiation only. Also provided are: a compound which is represented by general formula (3); and a method of protecting an amino or another group with the compound and of eliminating the protection. (3) (In the formula, Ar1 represents an optionally substituted (hetero)aromatic ring; Ar2 represents optionally substituted (hereto)aryl; X represents a leaving group; and n is an integer of 1 or 2.)
