摘要：PURPOSE:To ensure such a siphon breaker as being excellent in responsiveness and being easier in maintenance, checking and serving of a mechanism part with simple structure by providing a valve made of shape memory alloy on the discharge passage of high pressure gas. CONSTITUTION:A siphon path 1' is branched from a main piping 8 such as a cooling piping which connect a nuclear reactor and a steam generator with each other and is joined to a damper tank in such a way as putting the opened end part therein. The discharge passage 3 of high pressure gas, provided with a plug body as a valve made of shape memory alloy, is arranged with the end part thereof opened, on the top part of said siphon path 1' and a high pressure vessel 4 of inert gas is connected with said siphon path 1' through said discharge passage 3. And, when pressure in main piping abnormally rises so as to discharge fluid such as liquid natrium from the siphon path 1, the plug body is contracted by the temperature of said fluid so as to discharge the high pressure gas to the siphon path 1' for breaking the siphon action.
