PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gamma thermometer (GT) sensor mechanism which can be manufactured easily and can enlarge information contents about axial output contours of a core.
SOLUTION: In the method, steps where a first linear array 52 of the GT sensor 38 is positioned in a first equipment housing 34 of the reactor core, a second linear array of the GT sensor is positioned in a second equipment housing 34, the first equipment housing is positioned in the reactor core at the first core location, the second equipment housing is positioned at the second core location symmetrical to the first core location and core state data are collected from one or more GT sensors in the first linear array of the GT sensors and the collected core state data are applied as data collected from the second linear array.
