Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 5 years old. I was asked to come talk to you big kids today about one of my favorite things - animals! I really really love animals and I'm going to tell you all about some of the coolest ones.
First up, let's talk about elephants! Elephants are these huge, gigantic animals that look like they're made of wrinkly gray rocks. But they're not rocks, they're alive! Isn't that crazy? They have really long noses called trunks that they use to pickup things like peanuts and drink water. Elephants are so strong, they can even use their trunks to pickup entire trees! The biggest elephants are called African elephants and they're taller than your teacher. The babies are called calves and they're just the cutest, tiniest things when they're first born.
Another animal I love are kangaroos! Kangaroos are from a place called Australia and they
get around by hopping on their big back legs and using their long tails for balance. The best part is, kangaroo mommies have a special pouch on their bellies where the babies live! The babies are so tiny when they're born that they have to crawl up into the pouch to drink their mom's milk. How cool is that? Don't you wish you could live in your mom's pouch when you were little? Kangaroos look so funny when they're just chilling, sitting up on their tails.
Okay, now let me tell you about penguins! Penguins are the best because they're birds but they can't fly at all - they just waddle around on their little feet. They live in freezing cold places with lots of ice and snow and instead of wings to fly, they have little flipper arms that help them swim super fast in the ocean after fish. Every year, all the penguins get together in huge groups called colonies to have babies and take care of their eggs. The dad penguins are so funny, they have to carry the eggs on top of their feet and wiggle around to keep them warm until they hatch. Wouldn't it be hilarious if your dad had to do that?
I bet you didn't know this, but sloths are one of the slowest animals that ever existed! They're like this little chunk of fluff hanging from branches in the rainforest. Sloths only com
e down from the trees once a week to go to the bathroom. The rest of the time they just munch on leaves, look silly, and sleep all day long. How cool would it be if you could just nap in a tree all day like a sloth? Their babies are so tiny and precious, just little balls of fur clinging to their mom's bellies. Sloths don't have any natural predators because they're just too darn slow to catch! Maybe we should all try being sloth-speed for a day just to see what it's like.
One last animal I have to tell you about is the pufferfish! These fish look like normal little swimmers, but if something scares them or tries to eat them, they can puff up into a huge spiky ball to protect themselves. Isn't that amazing? It's like they instantly turn into a living balloon with big staring eyes. Pufferfishes are so weird looking, but also so cute and funny when they're all puffed up. Just make sure you don't poke one, or you could get stung by their spines! Lots of animals try to avoid these little spikey buddies.
Well, that's about all I can tell you about some of my favorite animals for now. Wasn't that fun to learn about elephants, kangaroos, penguins, sloths, and pufferfishes? Animals are ju
st the coolest, weirdest, funniest things. I bet you didn't know half of that stuff before I told you! Let me know if you ever want to learn more because I have sooooo many animal facts stored up in my brain, I could talk about them all day. Thanks for listening, you fifth grade kids are awesome!

Hi everyone! My name is Tommy and I'm 5 years old. Today I'm going to teach you all about my favorite things - animals! I love learning about different creatures and I've read a bunch of books on them. Get ready to learn some really cool stuff!
First up, let's talk about elephants. Elephants are the biggest land animals on Earth! Can you believe how massive they are? An adult elephant can weigh over 6 tons - that's like having 100 kids piled on top of each other! Elephants use their long, bendy noses called trunks to breathe, drink water, grab food, and even give themselves baths. Their big floppy ears help keep them cool in the hot sun too. Elephants are super smart and can remember things for their whole life. Some elephant families travel together for 60 years!
Next, I want to tell you about sharks. Sharks are like the elephants of the ocean - they're huge! The biggest ones are whale sharks and they can grow over 40 feet long. That's almost as big as a school bus! Sharks have powerful jaws filled with tons of sharp, pointy teeth. They lose their teeth all the time but just grow new ones to replace them. How cool is that? Some sharks have to keep swimming all the time or else they'll suffocate. Other kinds can lie still on the ocean floor. My favorite is the great white shark because they're such amazing hunters.
Let's move on to talk about snakes now. Snakes are so cool because they don't have any arms or legs! Instead, they slither across the ground using their long, muscular bodies. Some snakes are tiny while others are absolutely massive - the green anaconda in South America can reach over 20 feet long! Most snakes eat small animals like mice, birds, or eggs by swallowing them whole. They have jaws that can "unhinge" and stretch out wide. After eating something so big, snakes won't need another meal for weeks or even months! Some snakes are venomous and have hollow fangs to inject venom into their prey.
