    Music is the Best!
    Hi there! My name is Tommy and I'm going to tell you all about why music is just the coolest thing ever. I love music so much and I bet you probably love it too!
    Music makes me feel so many different feelings. Sometimes it makes me want to dance around and be silly. Other times it makes me feel calm and relaxed. And sometimes sad songs can even make me cry a little bit. But that's okay because crying can help you feel better when you're sad. Music is kind of like magic because it can change how you feel just by listening to it!
    There are so many awesome kinds of music too. My favorite is probably pop music becaus
e the songs are really catchy and fun. I love singing along at the top of my lungs, even though I'm not a very good singer. Mom says I'm tone deaf but I don't care! Rap music is cool too because the words just flow together so smoothly. It's like the rappers are just talking really fast.
    Rock music gets me so hyped up and energetic. I'll blast it in my room and just go crazy jumping on my bed and air guitarring. Yes, that's totally a word! Classical music is beautiful too, even though some of it is kind of boring. But movie soundtracks are classical music and they are always so epic and powerful. It's like the music is telling a story just like the movie is.
    Do you play any instruments? I'm learning to play the drums which is a blast. Mom got me these small drum pads to practice on so I don't drive her too crazy with the noise. I'm not very good yet but I love whacking away at them. My dream is to be in a cool rock band one day and play huge shows in front of thousands of people! How awesome would that be?

    Music class is probably my favorite part of school. We get to learn about different styles of music from all around the world. Last month we learned about Latin music like salsa and merengue. I could barely sit still because that music is so energetic and makes you want to move. This month we're studying music from India which uses instruments I had never heard of before like the sitar. It's so fascinating learning about new kinds of music.
    You know what's really powerful about music? How it can bring people together. When everyone is singing along or dancing to the same song, you feel so connected to them. It's like you're all part of one big family. Music festivals, concerts, the atmosphere is just electric with everyone vibing to the same beats. And think about how many friends you've probably made just from bonding over your favorite artists or songs! Pretty cool if you ask me.
    Another amazing thing about music is how songs can tell stories and express thoughts better than just words alone. Lyrics can describe emotions in such a vivid way that you feel like you're experiencing them yourself. And without lyrics, just the melodies and rhythms ca
n make you imagine whole scenes playing out in your head. Like there's this one classical song that makes me think of knights riding into an epic battle every time I hear it. Does music make you imagine things like that too?
    Ok, so you're probably wondering what my absolute favorite song of all time is. Well, to be honest, I can't pick just one! I have way too many favorites to choose from. But I can tell you the first song that got me obsessed with music. It was "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift. I just loved how happy and fun that song was. The beat, the lyrics about not letting haters get you down, her cute outfits in the music video. From the moment I heard it, I was hooked!
    These days, I'm really into a lot of the pop punk/rock bands like Paramore, All Time Low, and Fall Out Boy. The combination of emotional lyrics, loud guitars, and catchy melodies just resonates with me so much as a pre-teen, you know? Their songs are all about stuff I can relate to like dealing with broken friend groups, falling in love, and trying to figure out who you are. Plus the energy and attitude of their music is simply unmatched.
    Anyway, I could honestly ramble about music forever because it's my absolute favorite thing in this world. Whether it's playing an instrument, attending a live show, or just jamming out in my room, music brings me so much pure happiness. It's a creative outlet, a way to express myself, and always there for me when I need an escape. Not to mention, music enhances everything in life! It makes me hyped for sports games, helps me concentrate while studying, calms me down when I'm upset, and takes road trips to the next level.
