    My Life as a Kid
    Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 9 years old. I love being a kid and going to elementary school. There's so much fun stuff to do every day! Let me tell you all about my life.
    I wake up pretty early since school starts at 8am. My mom makes me breakfast like cereal or pancakes. Then I get dressed in my favorite clothes - usually a t-shirt with a cool picture and jeans or shorts. I try to pick out something comfy since I'll be running around all day!
    The best part of the morning is when the school bus comes. I get so excited waiting for it! All my friends are on the bus too so we get to chat and laugh on the way to school. Sometim
es we make funny faces at cars driving by. The bus driver has to tell us to settle down.
    Once we get to school, we line up by class and go inside. My favorite subjects are art and P.E. (that's gym class). In art, we get to draw pictures, paint, sculthe clay, all that cool stuff. I'm a pretty good artist if I do say so myself! I made this awesome drawing of a rocket ship that my teacher hung up.
    For P.E. we go to the gymnasium and play games like dodgeball, kickball, or we just run around. I have a lot of energy so it feels great to get that out. Plus I'm really fast and good at sports. Sometimes we even get to go outside to the fields or playground!
    The other subjects are okay I guess. Math with all the numbers and stuff isn't too bad. I can do addition and subtraction pretty well. Reading is sort of boring unless it's a cool storybook. And subjects like science and social studies have some interesting parts but a lot of it is just learning facts.
    At lunch time we get to eat in the cafeteria. They have good kid foods like chicken nuggesort something out
ts, pizza, PB&J sandwiches. My favorite are the tater tots! I sit with my best friends every day and we talk about video games, movies, sports, you name it. The lunch ladies have to yell at us sometimes for being too loud.
    After lunch it's time for recess! That's the best part of the school day. We all get to go outside on the playground and run around, play on the swings and seesaws, that kind of thing. If it's nice out, we play kickball or just have races. If it's rainy we go to the gymnasium and do indoor recess. Still fun, but not as good as outside.
    The rest of the afternoon is more class time. I start to get pretty antsy and have trouble paying attention. I just want to get out of there and start my after school activities! Sometimes I get in a little trouble for tapping my pencil or fidgeting too much. Whoops!
    Finally the end of the day comes and we get on the buses to go home. I'm starving by then so I quickly eat an after school snack like chips or cookies. Then I get started on my favorite activities.
    A few days a week, I have soccer practice. I'm a forward on my team and I score a bunch of goals. We have games on the weekends and every one is a blast. Win or lose, it's just fun being out on the field and trying your best.
    The other days, I might take art classes where I can draw, paint, do pottery, whatever I want. Or I'll just go over to a friend's house and we'll play video games, build Lego sets, or make up games to play outside. The neighborhood has a bunch of other kids my age so we have a good group.
    Weekends are the ultimate though! I get to sleep in as late as I want. Then we'll go get pancakes or waffles for breakfast. Yum! After that, it's pretty much just freedom all day. Maybe my parents will take me and my friends to the movies, bowling, lazer tag, you name it. We have the best times.
    When the weather is nice, we'll go to the park or playground and stay out all day until we're exhausted. Playing pick up games of basketball or football, climbing on the jungle gym, swinging on it doesn't get any better!
    Sunday nights are kind of a bummer because I know I have to get ready for school again the next day. But for the most part, being a kid rocks! We get to play all the time, be silly, use our creativity and energy, and just enjoy life. Grown ups have to do too much work in my opinion!
    Anyway, that's a typical week in my life. Of course every day is a little different with fun surprises here and there. But this gives you a pretty good idea of how great it is being an elementary school kid. We get to learn new stuff while also having a blast every single day. I can't wait for summer vacation when it's just straight up fun for months! Being a grown up probably has its perks, but I'm in no hurry to get there. I'm just going to soak up this kid life for as long as possible!
