    My Awesome Summer Vacation
    Last summer was the best summer ever! I had so much fun and did a bunch of really cool things. I went to the beach with my family and we swam in the ocean and built huge sandcastles. My little brother tried to eat some sand but my mom stopped him. It was hilarious!
    Then me and my best friend Jake had a sleepover at his house. We stayed up way past our bedtimes playing video games and watching movies. His mom made us popcorn and we spilled it all over the floor by accident. We had to clean it up but we were laughing so hard that it took forever.
    A few weeks later, my grandparents came to visit from Florida. We went to the zoo and saw all the animals. The monkeys were my favorite because they were so silly and made funny noises. My grandpa wouldn't stop doing monkey impressions which made me and my sister crack up. We had ice cream after and I got chocolate syrup all over my face!

    My Summer Vacation Last Year
    Last summer was the best summer ever! I had so much fun and did so many cool things. Let me tell you all about it.
    First, my family went on a big vacation to Florida. We went to Disney World and it was amazing! I saw Mickey Mouse, Cinderella's castle, and rode on a ton of awesome rides. My favorite was Space Mountain - it was a roller coaster that went really fast in the dark and m
ade my stomach feel like it was floating. I also loved Splash Mountain because it had a huge drop that got me completely soaked! After Disney, we went to the beach for a few days. I built the most epic sandcastle and played in the ocean waves for hours. I even saw some dolphins swimming pretty close to the shore!
    When we got back home, I went to summer camp for a couple weeks. Camp was a blast - we did archery, went canoeing, made friendship bracelets, and sang silly camp songs around the campfire. One night we had a big talent show and I did a magic trick where I pulled a endless string of colorful ribbons out of my shirt sleeve. Everyone thought it was so cool! I made a bunch of new friends at camp too. My best friend was a girl named Lily and we did everything together. We're still best friends now.
    After camp was over, my aunt and uncle came to visit us for a week. They live on the other side of the country so I don't get to see them very often. We went miniature golfing, bowling, and they took me to go see a movie. I got to pick the movie and I chose one about a superhero saving the world. It was really exciting with a ton of action and cool special effe
cts. Before they left, my aunt and uncle surprised me by taking me shopping for a new bike! It's bright blue with sparkles on it. I loved riding it around the neighborhood.
    The last really fun thing I did was go camping in the woods with my dad. We packed up a tent, some sleeping bags, and supplies then hiked a few miles into the forest. That night we cooked hot dogs and s'mores over the campfire. It was so peaceful listening to the sounds of nature all around us. We saw an owl, some deer, and a family of raccoons! I slept great snuggled up in my warm sleeping bag. The next morning we woke up at sunrise, had a quick breakfast, then hiked back home. Getting to spend that quality time together camping was really special.
    Those are some of the highlights from my amazing summer vacation last year. I made so many fun memories that I'll never forget. Going to Disney, summer camp, having visitors, getting a new bike, and camping with my dad were all incredible experiences. This past summer may have been the best of my entire life so far! I can't wait to see what sort of adventures await me this upcoming summer. But no matter what, last summer will always hold a special place in my heart.

    Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, my mom woke me up early because we went on a trip to the beach. We packed a cooler with sandwiches, fruit, and juice boxes for a picnic lunch. The drive took over an hour but I didn't mind because I looked out the window the whole time.
    When we got there, the beach was really crowded with people. We found a good spot to set up our umbrella, towels, and chairs though. I raced straight for the water and spent hours playing in the waves, making sandcastles, and collecting seashells. The water was cold at first but I got used to it.
    After we ate our picnic lunch, I buried my dad in the sand! Just his head was sticking out. He looked so silly. Later, we walked along the shoreline and watched the sunset. The colors in the sky were amazing pinks, oranges, and purples. On the drive home I fell asleep because I was so tuckered out from my beach adventure.
