Do People Depend Too Much on Technology?
Hi there! My name is Alex and I'm going to write about whether people rely too much on technology these days. It's a big question that even adults disagree on. Some think technology makes our lives better and easier. But others worry we've become too hooked on our phones, computers, and all the latest gizmos and can't put them down. What do you think? Let me share my perspective as a 10-year-old kid.
First off, I have to admit that I love technology and all the cool things it allows me to do. My phone lets me watch endless videos, play awesome games, and stay connected to my friends 24/7 through messaging apps. My laptop and tablet help me do research for school projects and create presentations with sound, animation, you name it. Technology is fun and
makes learning way more engaging!
At the same time, I notice that some people, even kids my age, seem to be on their devices constantly. During recess, instead of running around playing tag or handball, many of my classmates plop themselves down against the wall fixated on their phones. At restaurants, I see entire families sitting in silence, each person absorbed in their own screen. It's kind of sad, isn't it? They're missing out on quality time together.
My parents try to enforce rules about screen time limits, no phones during mealtimes, and tech-free hours before bedtime. They say it's important to have a balance and not let devices take over our lives completely. I agree it makes sense to have limits, even though I often find myself protesting them! Without restrictions, I can easily get carried away and spend way too many hours in front of a screen.
In my opinion, technology can be an incredible tool and source of information, entertainment and connections. But it can also become an unhealthy obsession if we're not careful. Like anything else, it's best used in moderation. Too much of even a good thing isn'
t healthy.
Teachers always reinforce the importance of reading actual books instead of just relying on computer summaries. There's something magical about turning the pages of a real book that a screen can't quite capture. Mom and Dad make sure we go outside and be active, rather than just vegging out with video games all day during breaks and summer.  They say technology will never be a substitute for hands-on experiences, personal interactions and discovering the natural world.
It takes discipline and self-control to maintain a balanced approach to tech. My younger sister has a much harder time unplugging than I do. Maybe it's because I'm a little older or just have a different temperament. She gets antsy and throws tantrums if her screen time is cut off, while I'm usually ready to move on to the next activity after awhile.
For kids being raised in today's high-tech world, learning to Self-regulate usage from an early age will be a crucial life skill. We don't want to grow up overdependent and Unable to function without the constant pings and bright lights of our devices.
So in summary, while I'm extremely grateful for all the amazing possibilities technology provides, I recognize there's a fine line between using it as a tool to enhance our lives and letting it take over as an addiction. It's all about balance and being intentional with how we spend our time. I hope we can all try to appreciate the incredible capabilities of technology while also making sure not to lose our ability to engage with the real world around us. What do you think? I'd love to hear your perspective!

Do People Depend Too Much on Technology?
Hi, my name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk to you about technology and whether people are becoming too dependent on it. It's a really interesting topic that adults seem to argue about a lot.
tablet screen
Technology is everywhere these days! I have a tablet that I use for schoolwork and games. My parents both have smartphones. We have a big flat screen TV, a laptop, a deskt
op computer, and even a virtual reality headset at home. Technology makes a lot of things easier and more fun.
At school, we have interactive whiteboards instead of old chalkboards. We can watch videos and do activities right on the board. All my textbooks are digital now too. I don't have to lug around a heavy backpack anymore since all my books and materials are on my tablet. Technology definitely makes learning more engaging and interactive.
