其实nine-nine table是九九乘法表，乘法表可以用times table表示，书面用语是multiplication table。
这边的table用的是“表格”的意思。

① put food on the table是一句美国俚语，意思是养家糊口。

at the table和at table大不同
at the table是指在餐桌前、坐在餐桌旁，不一定在吃饭，也可以引申为在谈判中；而at table是指吃饭、就餐，强调“吃饭”这个动作进行时。
We have dinner at the table together. 我们一起在餐桌旁吃的晚餐。
We found them at tabletabletable. 我发现他们正在就餐。
