My School: Then, Now and In the Future
My name is Lily and I am a student in the 5th grade. Today, I want to talk about my school and how it has changed over time. My school is called Sunnyville Elementary and it has been around for a very long time. Let me tell you all about it!
When My Parents Went to School
When my parents went to this school a long time ago, it looked very different. The building itself was quite old and not as big as it is now. There were only two floors instead of the three that we have today. The classrooms were smaller too, with old chalkboards instead of the smart boards we use now.
My mom said the playground wasn't as fun either. It just had some swings, a seesaw and an old jungle gym. There was no nice rubber flooring or the cool play structures we have nowadays. They also didn't have a computer lab or a library as big and modern as ours.
One major difference was that there were no tablets or laptops for students back then. Can you imagine learning without computers and iPads? My parents had to write everything by hand and do research using actual books from the library. It sounds like it was much harder!
    My School Now
Thankfully, my school has changed a lot since my parents were students here. A few years ago, they did a total renovation of the whole building. They added a brand new third floor with enormous windows that let in lots of natural light. All the classrooms got an upgrade too, with new desks, books, and smart boards.
The computer lab was completely redone with the latest technology. We each get our own laptop or tablet to use during class. The library also got a huge makeover and looks like something from the future now. It has cozy reading nooks, study rooms, and even a maker space with 3D printers.
One of the biggest changes is our awesome new playground. It's like a mini theme park for kids! There are towering play structures with spiral slides, climbing walls, and bouncy floors. We even have baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and a running track. My favorite is the cool new splash pad that's perfect for hot days.
    The Future of My School
While my school is already pretty amazing, there are plans to make it even better in the future. The principal has been sharing some really exciting ideas with us.
First, they want to build an enormous gymnasium that would host school events, plays, and tournaments. Right now, we don't have a proper gym or auditorium. A new gym would make activities like basketball, gymnastics, and dance club so much better.
Another future plan is to turn our regular classrooms into modern learning labs. Instead of desks in rows, there would be movable tables and chairs. The rooms would also have creativity zones for projects and a small lounge area. Apparently, this "flexible" classroom design helps kids learn better.
The last idea I heard about is adding a STEM center to the school. This would be a special place just for science, technology, engineering and math. It could have a planetarium, coding stations, robotics lab, and even a greenhouse for experiments. As someone who loves science, I'm really looking forward to that!
My school has changed so much already, but it sounds like the future will bring even more amazing things. I feel really lucky to be a student here and can't wait to see what other surprises are in store. This is already one of the coolest schools around, and it's only going to get better!

Here's my essay on "Changes in My School – Past, Present and Future" in around 2000 words, written from a primary school student's perspective:
My School – How It Was, Is and Will Be
Hello everyone! My name is Lily and I'm going to tell you all about the big changes that have happened, are happening, and will happen at my school. It's been quite a journey!
    The Past
When I first started at Rainbow Primary School five years ago, it looked really different. The buildings were old and the paint was chipping off the walls. The playground only had a few rusty swings and a concrete area to run around on. It didn't look very exciting at all!
Inside, the classrooms felt cramped with old wooden desks that had carvings and doodles all over them from students over the years. The floor was scratched up and the curtains were dusty. We didn't have any computers or tablets either - we did all our work with pencils and paper back then.
At recess and lunch, we would just play catching games or chase each other around. Sometimes we'd bring skipping ropes from home too. The field was getting overrown with weeds and the paths were all cracked. It didn't feel like a very nice environment to spend most of our day.
