    My Awesome Summer Vacation
Wow, what an amazing summer vacation I had! I had so much fun and did so many cool things. I can't wait to tell you all about it!
It started right after school let out in June. My parents said we were going to take a long road trip to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins who live way out in the countryside. I was pretty excited because I love road trips - you get to see so many different places and play car games and stuff. Plus, I adore my cousins and couldn't wait to spend time with them.
We left bright and early one Saturday morning. Dad loaded up the car with our suitcases and snacks for the drive. I brought along my Nintendo Switch, some books, and a stomp rock
et that I was hoping to launch once we got to the farmhouse. The drive took forever - we were in the car for over 6 hours! But my little brother and I kept ourselves busy by playing I Spy, doing mad libs from a book, and watching movies on the tablet.
Finally we arrived at my aunt and uncle's big farmhouse. They have chickens, cows, horses, and even a barn cat named Whiskers. As soon as we got there, my cousins Seth and Emma came running out screaming "They're here! They're here!" We all hugged and then they showed me and my brother around the farm. We got to pet the horses, collect chicken eggs, and Whiskers the barn cat let me hold him which was awesome. That night we had a big cookout with hamburgers, corn on the cob, and made s'mores over the fire pit. It was such a fun first day on the farm!
Over the next few weeks, we did so many fun things like swimming in

    My Awesome Summer Vacation
Hey there! My name is Timmy and I'm a 4th grader. I just had the most amazing summer vacation ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it!
It all started on the last day of school. I was so excited because my parents promised we were going to go on a really cool trip during the break. They wouldn't tell me where we were going though, it was going to be a surprise!
A few days later, we all piled into the car and started driving. And driving. And driving some more! After what felt like forever, we finally arrived at the airport. An airport?! I thought we were going on a road trip but this was even better!
When we got on the plane, I could barely sit still in my seat. I had never been on a plane before and I was a little nervous but mostly just really excited. The flight felt like it took a million years, but I looked out the window as much as I could to see all the amazing views.
Finally, we landed in a place called London, England! I had learned a tiny bit about England in school but I didn't realize how awesome it would be. First up, we went to see Bu
ckingham Palace where the Queen lives. The palace was huge and there were guards standing perfectly still who were wearing those cool red jackets and tall hats. So cool!
After the palace, we went to check into our hotel. Our room had a great view and we could see this massive clock tower called Big Ben from our window. The next morning bright and early, we headed out to see Big Ben up close. It was even bigger than I imagined! We took a million pictures in front of it.
That afternoon, we went on a ride called the London Eye which is a huge ferris wheel. We got to go right to the very top and see the entire city from way up high. It was a little scary being so high up at first but the view was incredible. I could see people down on the ground who looked like tiny little ants!
The next few days, we saw more amazing places like the Tower of London, Hyde Park, and the British Museum. At the museum, I got to see real mummies and ancient artifacts that were thousands of years old! We also got to go on a ride on one of those classic double decker red buses that they have in London. Riding up top was the best!
One of the coolest parts though was getting to try all the different foods in London. We had fish and chips, which is fried fish with french fries. We also tried a full English breakfast with eggs, sausages, bacon, baked beans, mushrooms, and toast. For dessert, I had the most delicious strawberry trifle. Yum!
But my absolute favorite thing we did in London was going to see a play! My parents took me to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre to see a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. I had read that play in school so it was awesome getting to see it performed live on stage by real actors in such an iconic theatre. The costumes and the set were just magical.
After a week in London, we hopped on another plane and flew to Paris, France! I was so excited because I had learned about Paris in school too and had seen pictures of the Eiffel Tower. But let me tell you, seeing it in person is a whole other story!
