摘要：A dental tablet which remains unfragmented in the mouth for at least one minute comprises (a) a water-soluble sweet-tasting ingredient which contains at least 60% by weight of a polyhydric alcohol which is fermented at a rate not greater than one sixth of that of glucose (b) a water soluble organic acid. Up to 40% of sweet-tasting material may be constituted by a fermentable soluble carbohydrate. Examples of (a) are polyhydric alcohols such as mannitol dulcitol or sorbitol, and (a) may also contain a synthetic sweetening saccharin or a salt of cyclamic acid such as the calcium or sodium salt. Examples of (b) are acids which are preferably solids and of molecular weight less than malic, citric, tartaric or lactic acid. Tablets contain 10 to 98% of (a) and 0.5 to 20% of (b). Additional ingredients are (1) 0.5 to 10% of a salt tasting sodium chloride or a salt substitute; (2) a siliceous kaolin; (3) 0.1 to 20% of a compound or compounds containing calcium and phosphate tricalcium orthophosphate, calcium lactate, magnesium phosphate, calcium chloride or sodium dihydrogen phosphate; (4) a gum tragacanth, gum acacia, sodium carboxy methyl cellulose or sodium alginate; (5) flavours and colouring materials; and (6) a magnesium stearate. The table s may be of any shape, e.g. a disc or a
lollipop.
