    Spring is My Favorite Season
    Spring is definitely my favorite time of year! After the long, cold winter, it feels so nice when the warm weather starts to arrive. I look forward to spring every year because there are so many fun things to do and see.
    One of the first signs of spring is when the snow starts to melt and little green sprouts begin poking up through the ground. My mom always gets excited about her garden and starts planning what vegetables and flowers she wants to plant. I like to help her dig up the soil and put seeds and seedlings into the garden beds. Watching the plants grow from tiny seeds into big, leafy veggies is so cool!
    Another great thing about spring is all the baby animals that are born. At my friend's farm, they have new calves, lambs, and foals every year. The babies are so adorable and fun to watch as they run and jump around the pastures. My little sister loves looking at the fuzzy chicks and ducklings too. We sometimes get to pet them if we're really gentle.
    When trees start sprouting green leaves again, that's one of my favorite signs of spring. Our backyard starts to look alive instead of bare and brown like in winter. I love climbing the big oak tree and sitting up in the branches as more leaves unfurl around me. The neighborhood also looks prettier with all the new greenery and blossoms appearing.
    Spring brings lots of opportunities to play outside too after being cooped up for the winter. Riding bikes, having water balloon fights, going to the park - it's all way more fun in the mild spring temperatures. Sometimes we even get to miss school if there's a late spring snowstorm for an extra fun surprise! I definitely prefer the spring rain showers over winter blizzards.
    Another thing I really love is seeing different types of birds and wildlife become active ag
ain in the spring. Robins, cardinals, and blue jays flit around our backyard all of a sudden. At the pond in the park, ducks, geese, and frogs appear after being gone all winter. My dad takes me fishing in the spring which I always enjoy. Even if we don't catch much, it's still fun sitting by the water on a warm day.
    Towards the end of spring, the school year starts winding down which means looking forward to summer vacation. Our class always goes on a fun field trip before school ends - last year we went to the zoo which was awesome. This year, I hope we get to go to the children's museum or maybe even go strawberry picking. Spring is jam-packed with activities and excitement before the lazy summer days arrive.
    Best of all, the beginning of spring means it's time to celebrate my birthday! This year I'm turning 10 which feels like a big milestone. My parents always make my birthday extra special by decorating and making me a fancy cake. I get to have a few friends over for pizza, games, and a sleepover too. Spring birthdays are the best since it's nice enough to do fun stuff outdoors. Way better than a winter birthday party stuck inside!

    Spring is My Favorite Season
    Spring is finally here! After the long, cold winter, I'm so excited for the warm weather and all the fun things that come with spring. This is my absolute favorite time of year. Let me tell you why I love spring so much.
    First of all, the weather is perfect in spring. It's not too hot and not too cold. The temperatures are just right - warm enough that I can play outside without having to wear a heavy coat, but cool enough that I don't get all sweaty and overheated. Those first few nice days when it hits 60 or 70 degrees feel SO good after being stuck inside all winter. I can't wait to go out and run around at recess instead of having indoor recess.
    Another reason I adore spring is because of all the pretty flowers that start blooming. My mom and I always go to the garden store and pick out colorful flowers to plant in our yard. We get daffodils, tulips, petunias, and all sorts of other beautiful flowers. I love watching them poke up through the ground and see their bright colors. Our whole neighborhood looks so cheerful with flowers everywhere you look. And that fresh, floral scent in the air is just delightful.
