    The Joys of Spring
    Spring is finally here! This is my favorite time of year. Everything seems to come alive after the long, cold winter. The first sign that spring has sprung is when I see the snow starting to melt. Huge puddles form on the ground and I love splashing through them in my rain boots. My mom doesn't like when I track mud and water into the house, but it's so much fun!

    The next big change is all the green that starts popping up. The trees grow new bright green leaves, and the grass gets tall and lush again. My backyard turns into a green wonderland. I like to look for the first little flowers peeking up through the ground. Daffodils and crocuses are usually the early bloomers. Their cheerful colors are such a happy sight after months of boring white snow.
    Spring also means I get to spend more time outside playing after school instead of being cooped up indoors. My friends and I can finally ride our bikes, go to the park, and play games like kickball and jump rope. We get so sweaty and dirty from running around, but we have a blast. My little brother always wants to tag along too. He can be annoying, but I don't mind him joining our fun as much in the spring.
    When we get back from break, there's still a few weeks of school left before summer. Spring makes that time go by fast though, because every day gets warmer and sunnier. Pretty soon the school year will be over and those long, gloriously free days of summer will be here. But I don't want to wish away spring too quickly. The gentle breezes, blue skies, and reawakening of nature are just too beautiful to rush through. I plan to soak up every moment of spring's sweet delights before summer's heat takes over.

    Spring Is My Favorite Season
    Spring is definitely my favorite season of the whole year! After the long, cold winter, it feels so nice when spring finally arrives. Everything starts turning green and colorful again.
    One of the best things about spring is all the pretty flowers that bloom. My favorites are daffodils and tulips because they are so bright and cheerful. I love going on nature walks with my mom and looking for wildflowers peeking up through the ground. We take a wildflower book along so we can try to identify all the different kinds.
    Another great thing about spring is that it's playtime weather again! In the winter it's too cold and snowy to really play outside much. But in spring, as soon as it's not freezing anymore, I'm outside riding my bike, playing on the swingset, or just running around getting fresh air. The neighborhood comes alive again with the sounds of kids laughing and having fun.
    Spring also means baby animals everywhere! It's so cute to see little lambs and calves frolicking in the fields. At the park, you can hear birds chirping and squawking as they build new nests for their baby birds. Sometimes you can even spot a rabbit hopping by with a bu
ndle of babies following behind. My friend's dog had puppies in the spring and they were the most adorable thing ever!
    Another not-so-great part of spring is that it rains a lot. April showers bring May flowers, as they say. But it can get tiring having so many rainy, gloomy days in a row sometimes. I definitely prefer those sunny spring days when you can break out the shorts and t-shirts and just soak up that warm sunshine.
    My birthday is in the spring and that's probably why I love the season so much. For my birthday this year, we had a backyard party and all my friends came over. We got to play fun outdoor games like freeze dance and tag. And we had a sprinkler running so we could run through it to cool off when we got hot. It was the perfect spring birthday!
    My family always does a big spring cleaning of the whole house too. As much as I dislike dusting and scrubbing, I know it's important to clear out that winter stuffiness. And it feels so good when it's all fresh and clean for spring! Opening the windows to let in warm breezes is the best.
    Spring just has a feeling of renewal and regrowth that makes me happy. Everything seems to wake back up after a long sleep during the winter months. There are so many fun events and activities that happen each spring too. Like Easter egg hunts, May Day celebrations, baseball season starting, and the school Carnival.
    Even though summer will always be really fun because of no school and pool days, spring is hands-down my favorite time of year. Seeing all the trees get their leaves back and blossoming flowers is like the whole world is celebrating along with me. I can't wait for spring to roll around again soon! It's the season of rebirth and new beginnings. What's not to love about that?
