    Elon Musk was born in South Africa in 1971. As a kid, he loved reading comic books and dreaming about inventions that could change the world. When he grew up, he became an engineer and started companies that make cool things like electric cars and rockets.
    Musk's biggest dream is for humans to become a multi-planet species. He wants people to live on Mars as well as Earth! Why Mars? Mars is the planet that is most like Earth in our solar system. It has land, mountains, and even ice!

    Getting There
