    My Favorite Month is July
    July is my absolute favorite month of the whole year! There are so many amazing things that happen in July that make it the best month ever. Let me tell you all about why I love July so much.
    First of all, my birthday is in July! I was born on July 15th, right in the middle of the month. Every year, I get so excited counting down the days until my birthday. My mom always makes me my favorite cake - chocolate with chocolate frosting. And my dad takes me and my friends to do something really fun, like going to the water park or having a birthday party with pizza, games, and a bouncy castle! I get so many awesome presents from my family and friends too. Last year, I got a new bike, video games, books, art supplies, and lots of other co
ol stuff. Being the birthday kid is the best!
    Another reason I love July is because it's summertime and school is out. That means no more waking up early, no homework, and two whole months of freedom! I get to sleep in as late as I want (well, except on my birthday - I'm always way too excited to sleep in that day!). My friends and I ride our bikes all around the neighborhood, have lemonade stands, play video games for hours, and basically do whatever we want. It's absolute paradise not having any schoolwork or schedules to follow. We start every day saying, "What should we do today?" Then we come up with all kinds of fun adventures and games to play. Summertime is the best time!
    Speaking of adventures, that's another reason I adore July - my family always goes on an awesome summer vacation! One year, we went to Disney World in Florida, and it was the most magical place. We got to meet Mickey Mouse, ride incredible roller coasters, and watch amazing shows and parades. Another year, we drove up to the mountains in Colorado and went hiking, whitewater rafting, and roasting marshmallows around the camp
fire at night. Last July, we flew out to California and went to Universal Studios, Hollywood, the beach, and so many other cool places. My parents always plan the most exciting vacations in July when we're all off from school and work. We make such wonderful family memories on those trips!
    Have you noticed how hot it is in July? The temperatures are perfect for swimming! I'm lucky because my grandparents have a swimming pool in their backyard. My cousins and I spend entire days splashing around, jumping off the diving board, having cannonball contests, and playing pool games like Marco Polo. When I get home, my fingers and toes are all pruney from the water. That's the sign of a perfect summer day to me! If we're not at my grandparents' pool, my family might go to a water park with giant swirly slides and a lazy river. Or we'll pack a picnic and head to the lake to swim, fish, and build sandcastles. There's nothing better than cooling off in the water when it's sizzling hot outside in July.
    Do you know what else is awesome about July? The 4th of July holiday! My neighborhood always has a fantastic parade with firefighters, marching bands, people on fl
oats throwing out candy, and more. At night, we get to watch the most brilliant fireworks show. My dad buys us glow necklaces and glow sticks to wave around in the dark while we watch all the colorful fireworks exploding in the sky. Some of them look like smiley faces or stars! Afterwards, there are food trucks selling hot dogs, cotton candy, and snow cones. The 4th of July holiday is always a huge celebration and so much fun.
    The final reason I love July is because of all the fresh fruits and veggies that are in season. We go to the farmer's market every Saturday and stock up on blueberries, peaches, strawberries, watermelon, sweet corn, tomatoes, and more delicious summer produce. My mom makes refreshing fruit salads and salads with tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs from our garden. We have juicy watermelon slices for snacks and put blueberries on our breakfast pancakes and waffles. The fresh flavors of July's fruits and veggies are so amazing! We can really taste how much better they are than the produce we buy at the grocery store in the winter.

    My Favorite Month is July
    July is my absolute favorite month of the whole year! There are so many fun things that happen in July that make it the best. I always look forward to it when the weather starts getting warmer in the spring.
    The biggest reason why I love July is because of the 4th of July holiday. The 4th is the best day of the whole summer! On the 3rd, my family goes to the big fireworks show at the park. We get there really early to get a good spot on the blankets. My mom packs a picnic dinner with hot dogs, watermelon, and root beer. While we're waiting for it to get dark, I run around playing tag and frisbee with my friends.
