    My Birthday Month and Season
    When someone asks me what month my birthday is in, I always get excited to tell them! My birthday is in August, which is one of my favorite months of the year. August is right in the middle of summer vacation from school. The weather is warm and sunny, which makes it a great time to be outside playing with friends and having adventures.
    Summer is definitely my favorite season. I love the long days with the sun staying out until late at night. I can play outside for hours after dinner before it gets dark. My mom takes me to the community pool almost every day in the summer and I spend hours swimming around and going off the diving board. We also go on picnics and have cookouts in the park. Everything is so green and colorful with flowers blooming everywhere. Summer just feels hap
py and carefree.
    My actual birthday is on August 15th. I'll be turning 9 years old this year! I'm really looking forward to my birthday. Every year, my parents let me pick what kind of birthday party I want to have. One year I had a skating party at the roller rink. Another year was a science party where we did cool experiments. Last year I had a unicorn-themed party with decorations covered in rainbows and sparkles. This year, I'm thinking of having an outdoor adventure party where we go hiking, have a scavenger hunt, and maybe even camp out in tents in the backyard overnight.
    No matter what kind of party I have, there are always a few traditions we do every year for my birthday. In the morning, my mom makes my favorite birthday breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles on top. We also always make a candlelit path leading from my bedroom to the living room so I can wake up and follow the candles to see where my presents are. My parents give me a special birthday present scavenger hunt every year too. They hide clues all around the house and yard that eventually lead me to my big gift at the end.
    After breakfast, we start getting ready for my party festivities. My dad blows up tons of balloons and hangs streamers and signs everywhere. If the weather is nice, we usually have a bouncy castle or water slide rented and set up in the backyard. My friends start showing up in the afternoon and the party goes for a few hours. We play games, eat pizza and cake, and I get to open my presents. My grandparents and aunts and uncles usually come over towards the end so I can celebrate with my whole family.
    Once the party is over, we always finish my birthday out with a special birthday dinner. Sometimes we go out to a restaurant, but I actually prefer when we get my favorite takeout or have a backyard cookout. My dad grills burgers or hotdogs and we have potluck sides like baked beans, coleslaw, corn on the cob, and potato salad. For dessert, we have my birthday cake and ice cream. The cake is always a special ice cream cake roll with layers of cake and ice cream rolled together. My favorite is the Oreo and vanilla ice cream one. Mmmm so good!
    After dinner, we'll sometimes have a backyard campfire and make s'mores. We'll sit arou
nd the fire and I'll get to open a few more presents from my extended family. When it gets late, we'll go inside and watch a movie together while I snuggle up with my new stuffed animals and blankets from my birthday gifts. By the end of the night, I'm always totally exhausted but completely happy from an amazing birthday celebration.
    My birthday in August is absolutely my favorite day of the whole year. I get to be the total center of attention and celebrate with all the people I love the most. Everyone makes me feel so special and spoiled. The summer weather makes it possible to have fun outside during the day and night. I get to play games, eat my favorite foods, and spend quality time with my family. Getting to experience the summer season on my birthday makes it even more magical. From the warm, sunny days to the fireflies at night, everything about summer birthdays is perfect. I'm definitely a summer baby through-and-through!

    Hi there! My name is Sam and I'm going to tell you all about when my birthday is. I get really excited for my birthday every year because it means presents, cake, and getting to do fun things with my family and friends. But before I go too far, let me actually tell you what month and season my birthday falls in.
    My birthday is on August 22nd, which means it's right at the end of the summer season. Summer birthdays are the best in my opinion! The weather is always nice and warm, without being too hot. School is out so I don't have to worry about homework or tests on my birthday. And there are so many fun summer activities I can do to celebrate like going to the beach, having a pool party, going mini-golfing, or just running around outside without having to wear a heavy coat.
