    Traditional Festivals
    Festivals are always so much fun! They give us a break from school and a chance to celebrate with our families. I really enjoy the traditional festivals we have in our culture.
    One of my favorite festivals is the Spring Festival, also called Chinese New Year. Everything is decorated in red and gold. My family cleans the house from top to bottom to sweep away any bad luck. On New Year's Eve, we have a huge feast with dumplings, noodles, fish, and other lucky foods. After midnight, we set off firecrackers and fireworks to welcome the new year. It's so exciting!
    Another fun festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival. We eat mooncakes and admire the full mo
on. My grandparents tell stories about the lady living on the moon. One year, I even got to carry a brightly lit lantern and join the lantern parade.
    The Dragon Boat Festival is pretty cool too. We eat sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. The boats race across the river decorated like dragons. The drummers beat their drums so fast and loud. I hope I can race in a dragon boat someday.
    Festivals are the best. They let us spend quality time with family, eat delicious foods, and learn about our traditions and culture. I can't wait for the next festival to come around!
