Spring, the Sweet Spring春天，甜美的春天

        托马斯·纳什（1567—1601），牧师之子，14岁进入剑桥大学，主修哲学和拉丁文，1586年获学士学位。在伊丽莎白时代，英国文艺复兴进入了繁盛阶段，托马斯·纳什成为当时剑桥的“大學才子”之一，也是著名的剧作家和诗人。
        《春天，甜美的春天》这首诗出自纳什唯一一部独立创作的田园戏剧《夏季的临终遗嘱》（Summer’s Last Will）。本诗的韵律为抑扬格五音步（iambic pentameter）。每节前三行韵脚为aaa，且每行均有腹韵，即每行的第二个音步的最后一个音和本行尾音押韵，比如第一行的spring和行尾的king押韵。每节第四句为叠句（refrain），鸟鸣声作为叠句出现在各诗节的相同位置，在很大程度上增强了该诗的音乐美。诗人还运用了诸如bloom、cuckoo等鲜明的春天意象，动静结合，描绘出春天大自然万物复苏、欢快祥和的景象，以及一派理想的田园风光：寒冷退去，温暖归来，生机勃发。与此同时，春天和大自然把活力和欢乐带给了人们，让

        Lambs frisk and play， the shepherds pipe all day，
