Lesson: 课文
Don't be a Rude Dude! (an impolite person)
What is rude, and what is polite is different in every culture. Each lesson we will discuss some things that many Chinese do that can be considered rude, or not polite in the Western business and social world. We will give you advice on you what NOT to say or do. Remember, don't be a Rude Dude!
In business settings, one should never:
1) Never offer a foreigner a cigarette. Smoking kills. Don't kill anyone, that is RUDE, and it smells. Smokers smell. PLEASE DON'T SMOKE!
2) Never criticize someone for wanting to go Dutch or share the bill. In the West, people share the bill to show equal respect. Try going Dutch, it is cheaper, and it shows equality!

DIALOGUE
Molly: What's new with you?
Gordon: Not much. Are you hungry?
Molly: Why yes. Why do you ask? Do you want to go get some grub (food)?
Gordon: May I treat you to dinner at Pizza Hut tonight?
Molly: I'd love to go with you, but I want equal respect. Let's go Dutch if that is all right with you?
Gordon: No problem, anything for you.
Molly: Anything?
Gordon: Anything, anytime. You are the greatest; I live only to serve you.
Molly: Wonderful. I don't mean to criticize, but you pick your beard too much.
I saw you once. It was disgusting. You had left food in your beard. Don't you know that is improper behavior?
Gordon: Girls sure do love to criticize their boyfriends. I bet if I treated you,
instead of going Dutch, you wouldn't criticize me as much.
Molly: Right you are. However, you don't have enough money to treat me everyday.
Gordon: One day I will have enough money to treat many beautiful girls to dinner. Then you will be so jealous!
Molly: In your dreams! The girls will all laugh at you because you pick food out of your beard.
Gordon: You are a rude dude, but I love you. So I forgive you. Let's go eat.    Molly: A hungry boy is easy to control.
