摘要：PURPOSE: To overcomes the limitation of a steering wheel satisfying a structural requirements without deteriorating a safety during a drive or upon an accident, to further reduce the inertial moment by filling a fluid medium in a part of an outer ring. CONSTITUTION: A fluid medium 6 is filled in a part of a tube-like outer ring 4. With this arrangement, an acceleration which acts upon the outer ring 4 during twist-back of a steering heel 1, is direct proportional to the mass of the fluid medium 6, and the outer ring 6 is subjected to an initial acceleration similar to that exerted to the fluid medium 6. Accordingly, the square of the force is exhibited by a linear function of the mass, and as a result, the twist- back of the steering wheel 1 is attenuated so as to prevent occurrence of overshooting. Further, another braking operation is contributed by a friction between the fluid medium 6 and the inner wall of the outer ring 4. Since two contrary force components are present, and the fluid medium 6 shifts with a lag with respect to the motion of the outer ring 4, the steering wheel 1 is prevented from overshooting, and accordingly, the inertial moment and the mass of the steering wheel 1 can be lowered without changing the material and the dimensions thereof.
