The Yellow Mountain, located in the southern part of Anhui Province, is China’s most celebrated mountain for all its grandeur and beauty. In 1990 the Yellow Mountain was declared a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO Heritage Committee.

Mt. Heng in southern China, Mt. Hua in western China, Mt. Heng in northern China, and Mt. Song in central China. Xu Xiake, the great geographer and traveler of the Ming Dynasty, devoted two of his travel notes to the Yellow Mountain. And he wrote a special praise of the mountain, saying that you won't want to visit any other mountains after seeing Wu Yue but you won't wish to see even Wu Yue after returning from the Yellow Mountain.
