W:Not yet.Is it good?

M:It’s gotten a lot darker since lunchtime.When I woke up,it looked like it was going to be a nice day.
W:My phone says it will get windy soon,and there will be rain tonight.

M:Do you want to take the flight at 8:00 this morning or the flight at 3:00 this afternoon?
W:I don’t want to get up too early,so I prefer the latter one.I believe it will also give me enough time to prepare for tomorrow’s meeting at 9:00 am.

W:$15.
M:Great.I will collect them the day after tomorrow at 3:00 pm.

W:Hi,Mark.How was your summer vacation?
M:I worked at a restaurant the whole vacation.It was an exciting experience,and I also made enough money for the next term.What did you do for your summer vacation?
W:I attended some classes because I fell behind last term.I wanted to catch up with the others.
M:That’s great.So,have you seen David?
W:He dropped out of school completely.
M:Really?Why?I haven’t seen him for several months.
W:He works at a good company as an assistant now.
M:Wow.He’s so lucky.He doesn’t have a degree and he already has a job.
W:It sounds good now,but I wouldn’t do that.I want a degree.

M:French is so hard!Do you know what’s the most difficult part for me?
W:The grammar?
M:Yes,but only one particular area.I can’t remember if a word is male or female. W:You have to just remember those.
M:But there are so many,and I can’t find a pattern!For instance,the moon is female and the sun is male.I know those are common in different languages.But a chair is female and hair is male.I think that hair would be considered female!I just  don’t get it.
W:It can be very confusing.Don’t let it get you down,Andy.You’re doing well this term.One bad quiz score will hardly affect your grade.Your reading is excellent and so is your writing.You’ll get used to this part of the language soon enough. (Text 8)
M:Where are you? We are all waiting for you.We’re expecting Mary any minute now! W:I’m so sorry.There was a lot of traffic today.I think there was a major accident on the freeway,but I exited before I could see what happened.I’m five minutes away. M:I heard on the radio that a truck had crashed into another car,which caused a big traffic jam.Are you OK?
W:Yeah.The good thing is that I decided to change my route.My GPS system is so useful!I don’t know how I would get around otherwise.
M:Did you remember Mary’s gift?
W:I sure did.I have it right here with me in the car.Is everyone else there already?
I can’t wait to see her face when she walks in.Do you think she knows?
M:Everyone is here.I think we all did a good job at keeping the party a secret unless you arrive after Mary!Hurry up!
W:Just make sure all the lights are off so she doesn’t see anyone. (Text 9)
M:Can I help you find anything?
W:Yes,I’m going on vacation next week,and I need a book to take with me.
M:What do you usually like to read?
W:I love classics with strong female characters.I get tired of reading about men all the time.I’m looking for something easy and with a happy ending.I don’t want to think too hard while I’m travelling!
M:Where are you going? Sometimes it’s nice to read about the place you’re visiting. W:England.
M:You might like an author like Jane Austen,who writes with a lot of humour.Or Emily Brontë,another classic author.Her writing is full of emotion.It isn’t terribly enjoyable,but it always has powerful female characters.
W:I love Austen and Brontë,but I didn’t think about mysteries.Are they frightening? M:Not at all.The main story is about solving the crime,rather than the murder.I can suggest a few titles.
W:I hope I have time to finish the book!I’m travelling with my children,and they often interrupt my reading.
M:Let’s look for some books for them,too.We have a wonderful youth section right over here.

As the largest of its kind in the world,Penang Toy Museum has over 110,000 toys,dolls and other fun things.It has also entered the Malaysian Book of Records as the first toy museum in the country and for having the largest collection.
