Objectives:

Enjoy a song: Take me home country roads.
Step II. Predicting:
Get information from the title.
Step III. Fast reading:
1. Predicting: Get information from the title.
2. Get the main idea of the three parts.
Step IV. Careful reading:
I. Para.1: 1 Answer the questions:
                1) Where is Sarah from? 
2) What does she like?
             
2 Talk about Sarah’s story about change.
            3 Get the emotion: Music is a key to open our heart.
II. Para. 2: 1 Answer the question:
                    What is country music? 
                2 Tell the origin of country music.
                3 Compare country music with songs these days.
                    1) Enjoy a country music: Rhythm of the rain.
                    2) What are songs these days about? (For example)
                    3) Discuss: How to describe the two kinds of music?

本课的文化渗透涉及到美国的乡村音乐对于中国初中学生而言可能并不熟悉因此教学需要增加相关的文化知识背景介绍。
语言知识方面,学生已经上一单元开始学习现在完成时并且对该时态进行过相关口语、听力以及阅读的训练,具备了读懂本课内容的能力,为本课深入解读文本,进行能力、情感的提升做好了知识上铺垫。
八年级学生正是年少热爱音乐的年纪依据对本文的分析,设计了侧重情感、文化的故事解读方式,用歌曲赏析贯穿课堂,音乐的感染力加入到课堂中,应该能较好地调动学生的积极性,提高学生的课堂参与度
八年级的学生正好处在青春期,肯定也面临像故事主人公Sara改变之前的种种情况,这也是一个情感教育的好时机。
    回顾本节课,有得有失,分析如下:
学生通过本课的阅读能了解到美国乡村音乐的文化精髓,并且音乐的赏析中能够较好体会到这种音乐情感内涵,进而能更好地理解主人的故事。学生通过对文章运用预测、提取关键词、概括、记笔记等方式学习,深入浅出把课文进行分析建构,学生能获得文章的脉络和意图,并能在最后通过做海报的方式笔头输出本课所学。学生在音乐的赏析中能感受到对文本挖掘的意义和阅读本身知识上的丰富和情感上的愉悦。
本课作者现如今的流行音乐songs these days 的评价我本身并不太认可,但是过度依赖课本导致在这里忽略了学生评判能力的培养,没有让学生文本中跳出来进一步深入思考略有遗憾。
