Introduction
1. contain vt. (not used in the progressive tenses 不用于进行时)
包含；含有；容纳
This drink doesn’t contain any alcohol. 这种饮料不含有任何酒精。
The book contains all the information you need. 这本书包含你所需要的所有信息。
to keep your feelings under control 控制，克制，抑制(感情)
She was unable to contain her excitement. 她无法抑制内心的激动。
I was so furious I just couldn’t contain myself. （contain oneself 克制自己）我气愤极了，简直无法克制自己。
to prevent sth harmful from spreading or getting worse 防止…蔓延(或恶化)
  to contain an epidemic 防止流行病的蔓延
  Government forces have failed to contain the rebellion. 政府军未能遏制叛乱。
contain vs. include
contain 通常用来指某一范围或某容器中盛有某物，装有某物；还可指某种物质中含有的成分。不用于进行时态。
include 侧重包含者只是整体中的一部分。另外，人们常用include 的现在分词或过去分词来作解释说明，意思是“其中包括”。 sth. included或including sth.
2. store v&n
v. 储存，存放
  The museum is richly stored with such objects. 该博物馆储存着大量的这类物品。
n. 商店；仓库，货栈
  Most of the large stores are in the centre of town. 大多大商店都在市中心。
in store (for sb.) 即将发生（在某人身上）；等待着（某人）
There is a shock in store for him. 将有一件令他震惊的事发生。
We don’t know what life holds in store for us. 我们不知道等待我们的将是什么样的生活。
3. access n & v
（1）n. [U] access (to sth.) 通道；通路；入径
    The only access to the farmhouse is across the fields. 去那农舍的唯一通路是穿过田野。
    access (to sth.) (使用或见到的)机会，权利
    Students must have access to good resources. 学生必须有使用好的信息资源。
（2）v. to get information from or put information into 存取（计算机文件）
The files were accessed every day to keep them up to date. 文件每日存取，使之不断更新。
accessible adj. accessible (to sb.) 可接近的；可进入的；可使用的
The remote desert area is accessible only by helicopter. 只有乘飞机才能进入那遥远的荒漠地区。
These documents are not accessible to the public. 公众无法看到这些文件。
4.  crash
v. （汽车、飞机等）撞毁，坠毁，猛撞； 撞击（某物）发出声响；（计算机）瘫痪，死机；（企业、政府、股票）突然倒台，崩溃；
n. 撞车事故，飞机失事；突然发出的巨响；（掉落、断裂等时发出的）碰撞声。
【经典例句】
1） The plane crashed shortly after taking off.
那架飞机起飞后不久就坠毁了。
2） The car crashed straight into a tree.
这辆车一头撞到了树上。
3） The system crashed at nine this morning, so we haven’t been able to do anything.
今天上午9点系统瘫痪了，因此我们什么也做不了。
4） The company crashed with debts of 2 million dollars.
那家公司因负债200万美元而破产。
5） Forty-one people were killed in a plane crash in America last week.
上周美国的一次飞机失事中有41人丧生。
5．breakdown n.故障n.
(车辆或机器的) 故障，损坏
Our car had a breakdown on the highway.　我们的汽车在公路上抛锚了。
(关系)破裂；（讨论，系统）失败；
the breakdown of a marriage 婚姻破裂
a breakdown in communications 通信中断
break down
出故障；(汽车)抛锚
The telephone system has broken down. 电话系统瘫痪了。
Our car broke down on the freeway. 我们的车在高速公路上抛锚了。
(身体)垮掉
Her health broke down under the pressure of work. 她因工作压力身体垮掉了。
情不自禁的哭起来
He broke down and wept when he heard the news. 听到这个消息，他不禁失声痛哭。

1. design  vt.
design sth. (for sb./sth.)设计；制图；构思

2. concentrate v.
concentrate (sth.) (on sth./doing sth.) 全神贯注，精神集中，专心致志（于某事物）

We must concentrate our efforts on improving education. 我们必须致力于改进教育工作。
He concentrated his energies on studying. 他把精力专注于研究。

3. average
