As one of the most widely used languages in the world, English has the greatest universal circulation an
d is the most suitable and convenient communication medium in the world. In the international promotion of Chinese, it is more convenient to choose English as the medium. Both Chinese and English are highly developed languages with a long history. Both languages have rich and exquisite idioms, which bear different cultural connotations and affect the people who use them. Idioms are summed up by the people in their rich life experience. They highly concentrate the history and culture of a nation with strong national characteristics and folk characteristics, and have a distinct flavor of life. The cultural factors contained in idioms are the biggest obstacles faced by foreign Chinese learners. Without the support of cultural background, our language learning will face great difficulties, especially in the second language learning. A good second language learner should not only have a deep understanding of his own national culture, but also be familiar with the cultural background of the language he learns so as to avoid the negative transfer of his mother tongue as far as possible.

For Idioms, as an important part of modern Chinese, contain a large amount of cultural information and have an important impact on people’s daily life and communication. Effective learning of cultural backg
round knowledge has an important impact on teaching Chinese as a foreign language and cultural teaching. V acancy is an important linguistic phenomenon in language and culture. It plays an important role in the smooth development of inter-ethnic communication and communication. Differences in geographical factors, customs, religious beliefs and other factors among different nationalities will lead to vacancies.
For Chinese learners whose native language is English, Chinese learning has great difficulty. The study of English and Chinese language cultural vacancies is not systematic and perfect, and the only research results have not been valued by teaching workers. Application is not strong. From the perspective of cultural teaching, this paper points out the task of teaching Chinese idioms as a foreign language-eliminating cultural vacancies as far as possible, carrying out smooth communication, and making learners integrate into the cultural background of Chinese learning as quic

For Chinese learners whose mother tongue is English, the analysis of cultural vacancies in English and Chinese idioms is of great significance in understanding cultural vacancies and the development of English and Chinese idioms.
From the perspective of sociolinguistics, idioms carry rich cultural content, and the cultural world reflected by it is also the most authentic and rich in life. In our daily life exchanges, we often hear spoken language such as ―gentlemen don’t fight women‖, ―Three stinky cobblers are Zhuge Liang‖, and ―One who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a hero‖, which is not only in line with our Chinese. The principle of economy adds to the fun of language communication. In the face of the rising heat of Chinese learning in the world, seeking a more reasonable and efficient teaching method is an important part of our Chinese language.
II The Problems in Chinese-English Idiom Translation
2.1 English Sentence Structures Are Different
A complete English sentence consists of at least two parts (except imperative sentences). Subject and
subject are the subjects of a sentence’s narration, indicating what this sentence describes. Predicate is used to show that the situation of subject should be consistent with that of subject in person and singular plural form. In addition to the subject and predicate, sentences sometimes need other expressions such as those used to indicate the nature, characteristics, status or identity of the subject after a copula, objects used to express actions or results after a transitive verb, attributive modifiers of nouns or pronouns, adverbials used to modify adverbial phrases or whole sentences of verbs, and appositives used to further explain a noun or pronoun, etc.
2.1.1 Hypotaxis (English Emphasizes Hypotaxis)
English is considered to be a superimposed language. Grammatical components play an independent role in sentences. They form sentences by morpheme. The structure of sentences is rigorous and logical. In English, relatives, conjunctions, prepositions and other means of connection are often used to connect various elements to form long and short sentences and to express certain grammatical and logical relations.
