Teaching and Learning Goals:
Talk about months and dates. Learn the key sentences. When is your birthday? Listen for ones calendar and know the events. We should make plan to do sth.
Teaching and learning steps
Step1.
1.Revision: First, let the Ss speak out twelve months of the year, and make some Ss spell the words.
Second, ask some pairs to act out the conversation in Section A, 2e.
2. Show the Ss a picture of the calendar. Let the Ss say like this:
   
A: When is your birthday?
B: My birthday is December 15th. /Its December 15th.
  Then, show some pictures to make up dialogues.

设计意图:复习单词及拼写。通过学生的合作对话,练习重点句型,便于学生加强记忆,巩固所学知识。
Step2.
  1. Review the knowledge about sports nouns. eg. basketball, soccer, baseball, volle
yball and so on. Using the sports nouns, let Ss make up dialogues.

Its August 8th.

    2. After showing pictures above, list some new words. Then teach the new words with the help of pictures.

3. 1a.Match the pictures with the events.

Step3. Listening.
1. Let the Ss look at the pictures in 1a for 30 seconds. Then close the books and let the Ss think of the words.
2.1b. Listen and circle the events you hear in 1a.
3.1c. Listen again. Fill in Johns calendar.
Let the Ss write down the sentences about events on the paper.

4. Listen and repeat.
设计意图:在做听力前,先解决单词,为听力做好准备。听力时,一般先听取大意,大致了解听力主要内容,然后再注意细节,有针对性的听。跟读录音,让学生模仿读音,感知英语发音特点,以便提高口语表达水平。

2. Make survey about classmates calendar, and make dialogues.
设计意图:小组合作,就听力内容进行对话,培养学生实际运用能力,形成一定的语感。在组内做调查,就同班同学的日程表展开对话练习。这有利于学生在具体情境交流的有效性。
