摘要：PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a cleaning device and realize long-period use by napping a running web surface only in toner wiping operation and thus increasing the surface area of effective cleaning. CONSTITUTION:A web 3 is made of nonwoven fabric of aromatic polyamide, polyester, etc., and a napping mechanism 4 consists of a base 4a fixed to an image forming device and a napping member 4b having a saw-tooth part or needlelike napping part fitted thereto. The napping member 4b abuts on the web 3 running as shown by an arrow B to nap its surface, and the effective cleaning surface area of the web 3 is increased, so a toner bank TD is secured at the position and the surface of a roller 1 is not conveyed as it is to the upstream side. Toner in this toner bank TD stays there and is drawn again with the web 3 when toner is consumed below the toner holding capacity of the web 3.
