（一）形容词、副词比较级和最高级的构成：
1. 单音节词和少数双音节词比较级和最高级的规则变化：
规则 | 原级 | 比较级 | 最高级 |
1.在词尾后直接加-er/est | tall | taller | tallest |
2.词尾是e，只加-r/st | nice | nicer | nicest |
3.以辅音字母加y结尾的，把y变i再加-er/est | happy | happier | happiest |
4.重读闭音节，末尾只有一个辅音字母，双写这个辅音字母，再加-er/est | thin fat hot wet | thinner fatter hotter wetter | thinnest fattest hottest wettest |
2. 其他双音节词或多音节词,在该词前面加-more/most
beautiful—more beautiful—(the) most beautiful
3. 由形容词加ly构成的双音节词和多音节词,都是在该词前加-more/most.
quickly—more quickly—(the) most quickly difficultly—more difficultly—(the) most difficultly
4. 不规则变化:
good/well | better | best |
bad/badly | worse | worst |
many/much | more | most |
little | less | least |
far | farther/further | farthest/furthest |
（二）形容词比较级和最高级的用法：
1. 原级的用法: 1) 用于两者之间对比，意思为“……和……相同”,
A+v.+as….+形容词原级+as B
例如：Tom is as honest as Jack. Tom runs as fast as his brother.
2) 用于两者之间对比，意思为“……和……不相同”，
A+not + v.+as/so+形容词原级+as B
例如：He is not as (=so) tall as I. This story is not as interesting as that one .
2. 比较级的用法:
1）A+形容词比较级+than+ B: Susan is happier than Jane. His brother is younger than me.
Beijing is more beautiful than Osaka.
形容词比较级前还可以用much, even, still, a little，far, a lot, a bit,来修饰。
Very, so, too, quite, rather + 原级。
2）A+ 数字+形容词比较级+than + B .
I’m two years older than you. She is a head taller than me.
3) 用倍数惊醒比较的句型：
● A + 谓语 +… times +比较级 + than + B.
Eg. Your bag is three times bigger than mine .(你的包比我的大三倍。)
● A +谓语 +… times + as + 原级+ as + B
Eg. The living room is three times as large as the kitchen .
（客厅的面积是厨房的三倍。）
● A +谓语 +… times + the +(size, length, height ,weight …) + of + B.
Your cake is four times the size of mine .（你的蛋糕的大小是我的蛋糕的四倍。）
4）比较级+and+比较级，表示“越来越……”: The earth is getting warmer and warmer.
5）the +比较级，the +比较级结构，表示“越……就越……”:
The more I study it, the more I like it.
6）which/who +is +比较级: Which city is bigger, Beijing or Tianjin?
Who is happier, you or me?
7) A. … the + 比较级 +of the two … 例如： He is the taller of the two boys
3. 最高级用法：用于三者及以上的人或事物的比较,最高级前加the，最高级前有物主代词，序数词和名词所有格时，不加定冠词，后面跟带in或of表范围的短语。
He is the tallest in his class. He is the tallest of the boys.
1）one of the +最高级: Shanghai is one of the most beautiful cities in China.
It is our nearest neighbor in space.
2）最高级可以转换成比较级：: She is the best in her class.
She is better than any other student in her class.
She is better than the other students in her class.
No other student in her class is better than she.
（三）副词原级主要的句型：
1）as+副词原级+as: Tom runs as fast as Jones.
2) not as/so+副词原级+as: He didn’t come as/so early as Li Lei.
3）too+副词原级+to do sth. Jean rides too slowly to catch up with me.
4）so +副词原级+ that +从句 ： Jean rides so slowly that she can’t catch up with me.
5）副词原级+enough to do sth. Jean doesn’t ride fast enough to catch up with me.
