PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus for particularly effectively preventing illegal accessing in the apparatus for controlling the accessing to a file based on certification information from an accessing originator, and to provide a method for controlling accessing in the method for controlling the accessing to the file based on the certification information from the accessing originator.
SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus comprises a dummy file unit for storing a dummy file different from a valid file in a server for allowing the valid file to be accessed based on the certification information input from a terminal unit via a network, to access the terminal unit which conducts illegal accessing to the dummy file when the illegal accessing is conducted from the terminal unit.
