摘要：PURPOSE:To conduct a proper retarder control met with a driver's will and a car driving state by allowing the retarder control when a distance to a body ahead in the running direction of a vehicle is less than the specified value as well as when a distance decrement rate is more than the specified value, but at a time other than this case, prohibiting this retarder control. CONSTITUTION:In a device which controls an exhaust brake (retarder) 27 on the basis of each output signal out of a brake detecting sensor 41, a throttle opening sensor 42, a distance sensor 43 and a car speed sensor 44, there is provided with a relay R1 which selects a switch S2 to OFF and a switch S2 to ON respectively by a brake signal Br, and when the switch S2 is ON, an indicating signal out of a computing element 45 is inputted into an actuator 27A. On the other hand, at time of non-braking, this actuator 27A is controlled by a retarding signal generating circuit 40. At this time, when a distance decrement rate of a body in front of a vehicle is less than the specified value as well as when the distance is more than the specified value, a switch S5 is turned to OFF by a relay R3, cutting off a retarding signal.
